Former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid is likely to take charge of team India?s coaching duties for the New Zealand home series after the T20 World Cup 2021. The Kiwis will travel to India for three T20Is and two test match series right after the end of the T20 World Cup 2021, scheduled in UAE and Oman.



It is noteworthy that the current head coach of the Indian team, Ravi Shastri, will resign after the T20 World Cup 2021 as his term will be finished and he hasn?t sought any extension. The BCCI has understood that the search for a perfect coach for the high profile team will take some time and till then there is a need for an interim experienced coach.



Dravid, who coached the second-string Indian team for the Sri Lanka tour earlier this year, is likely to head the role until BCCI elects the new coaching staff for the Men in Blue. He will remain in charge and will continue to give his services to the team until the selection of a suitable candidate.



The BCCI has already approached Rahul Dravid to take up the full-time role of team India?s coaching duties, however, the 48-years old has constantly resisted the offer from the richest cricket board as he doesn?t want to travel much and don?t want to keep his family away from him.



Rahul Dravid is the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) Bangalore and wants to continue providing his services in nurturing the Indian young talent from the grass-root level. He also coached India?s U-19 Men?s team before heading NCA.

<h2>BCCI wants an Indian experienced coach for team India:</h2>



A few overseas coaches have shown their interest in coaching team India, but BCCI wants an Indian in the first place to take up the position. As per the reports, the Indian board has communicated a few Indian prominent names for the coaching duties and is yet to get a positive response.



Ravi Shastri along with bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar will quit right after the T20 World Cup. Trainer Nick Webb has also confirmed that he will also bid adieu to his role post the showpiece event.



The BCCI is yet to post an official advertisement for the duties. It is learnt that the board wants the potential candidates to respond before putting out an official advertisement for the roles and responsibilities.



?We wanted the candidate whom we feel is best suited for the job to agree first (to apply for the job),? a BCCI official explained their rationale to delay the advertisement. ?We don?t want a situation where we get applications but no one is seen as ideal. It will be embarrassing for the board and for the candidates too. So it?s better to find a suitable candidate first, till then Dravid can be interim coach,? a BCCI official said.

New Zealand tour of India, 2021: In welcoming news for the Indian fans, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and state government of West Bengal have confirmed the inclusion of 70 per cent fans in the stadium for India vs New Zealand 3rd and final T20I match.



Team India will host New Zealand for three matches T20I series and two test matches following the completion of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2021 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).



The third and final T20I match between India and New Zealand at Eden Gardens will hear the chants of the fans from the stadium as the West Bengal government has issued a directive to operate the Eden Gardens with 70 per cent crowd support.



India has not allowed the 100 per cent attendance of crowd ever since the covid pandemic shook the entire world. Though, BCCI approved the presence of fans for India vs England test matches, earlier this year, however, the stadium doors were soon forced to be closed after the covid cases surge.



The Eden Gardens, which hosted the 2016 T20 Final between England and West Indies, will host its first international match since 2019. With a total capacity of?68,000, the Eden Gardens will allow around 47,000 fans to watch the live-action between India vs New Zealand in the 3rd T20I match.

The CAB pitch curator, Sujan Mukherjee said, ?We?ve worked well in advance to keep the pitch and the outfield ready. The wicket will have a firm bounce, and it promises good cricket for sure. We?ll also get a fair idea from the women?s matches.?

The upcoming meeting of the selectors is of enormous importance as the new Indian T20I skipper will also be announced soon after the confirmation of the T20I squad. Virat Kohli, current India?s all-format skipper, has already decided to relinquish the T20I captaincy for India after the T20 World Cup 2021.



It is learnt that current team India?s vice-captain Rohit Sharma is the frontrunner for the captaincy role while there are a few young names who can be appointed deputy to Sharma in T20Is. Bumrah reckons that players tend to miss their families and there is huge mental fatigue on the cricketer when they play for constant seven-eight months.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is also assumed to announce the new head coach of team India soon after the announcement of the T20I squad against New Zealand.?



Ravi Shastri, the current head coach of team India, is set to quit his job as the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 is his final assignment with the senior Men in Blues.&nbsp;

New Zealand tour of India: The New Zealand Cricket (NZC) Board on Thursday announced its limited-overs and test squad for the India tour. The Kiwis are set to play three T20Is and two test matches against India during November-December.



Ace pacer Trent Boult and all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme have made themselves unavailable for the two matches test series against India following the packed international calendar of the kiwis.



?Trent has already spent the best part of 60 days in hard-managed isolation this year, while Colin had been on the road since May until recently returning home from Pakistan. From talking to both players it was clear the best option for them was to be left out of this Test tour and for them to instead focus on being ready for the New Zealand home summer," said New Zealand coach Gary Stead in a statement.



India and New Zealand will lock horns for the first fixture on November 17 for a T20I match. The two sides will then face each other in two matches test series beginning November 25.

The first test between India and New Zealand is scheduled in Kanpur while the second one will be held in Mumbai. Both sides will engage in the T20I series before the test series. The three matches T20I series is slated to be held in Jaipur, Ranchi and Kolkata.



The report of TOI further claimed that KL Rahul is the guy who has been in India's topmost priority to keep the charge of T20I vice-captaincy following the promotion of Rohit Sharma. Rahul has been sensational in all three formats recently. He took back his position in the Test side recently in the England series while his prowess in T20Is is second to none.



Moreover, the BCCI is expected to take time in order to announce the fate of Virat Kohli?s ODI Captaincy. India will tour South Africa during late December 2021 and early January 2022 to play all format series, which is when the ODI captaincy roles will be discussed.

India vs New Zealand Test series: The Indian senior selection committee on Thursday decided to keep the seasoned test captain Ajinkya Rahane as the leader of the test side for the first test match against New Zealand, for which Virat Kohli has asked for rest.?



India will host New Zealand for three matches T20I series followed by two test matches after the completion of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2021.



It is noteworthy, earlier, new Indian T20I skipper Rohit Sharma was in contention to lead the test outfit in the first match, however, the thought has now been withdrawn after taking a thorough consideration of Rohit?s workload. ?As the pandemic situation continues to improve in Rajasthan, the state government in its letter to the association has given its go ahead, permitting 100 percent seating capacity,? said the RCA president Vaibhav Gehlot as quoted by the TOI.?

RCA secretary Mahendra Sharma informed about the precautions being taken and the security of the players. He said only fully vaccinated fans will be given entry while if someone who is partially vaccinated wants to watch the match, he/she will have to carry a negative RT-PCR test.



?Masks will be compulsory, proper sanitization and ventilation in enclosed areas will be ensured, thermal screening will be in place, spectators who are fully vaccinated will be allowed entry. While those who are partially vaccinated will have to carry a negative RT-PCR report not older than 48 hours,? he added.



Earlier, during England?s tour to India, BCCI gave entry to a selected number of fans into the stadiums for the test series, however, the decision was soon reversed with the surge in the covid cases. However, this time with the situation well under control, the state governments and cricket associations are all charged up the witness fans cheering for their players from the stadium itself.

Conway, who seemed to be going through a purple patch in his cricketing life, was unfortunately ruled out of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 final and for the entire India tour with his self-inflicted hand injury. Out of frustration of getting dismissed against England before chasing down the total in 1st semi-final, Conway thumped his bat which turned out to be a bizarre incident.



The stumper batsman was later revealed to have suffered a fracture in his right hand, more specifically, a break to his right-hand fifth Metacarpal.



"It's a shame for Devon to miss out on the first series of the new World Test Championship cycle, but it also offers up an opportunity for someone else," New Zealand coach Gary Stead said. "Daryl's versatility means he can cover a lot of batting positions and he's certainly got plenty of confidence at the moment.

Mitchell has featured in five test matches for New Zealand since making his longest format debut in 2019. He has scored a century in test cricket against Pakistan in Christchurch.

The Indian selectors overlooked Yuzvendra Chahal for India?s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Rahul Chahar was preferred ahead of experienced leggie Chahal and the move went against India.



Chahal said that he was disappointed for a few days but was soon up as the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was there to make amendments to his performance.



"I was not dropped in four years and then I got dropped for such a marquee event. I felt really bad. I was down for two-three days. But then I knew the second leg of the IPL was still around the corner.



The 31-years old said that he tracked back his steps to his coaches and took their advice. He was backed a lot by his family and fans.?



"I went back to my coaches and spoke to them a lot. My wife and family were constantly encouraging me. My fans kept putting out motivational posts. That buoyed me. I decided to back my strengths and overcome my confusion. I couldn?t have sulked for long because that would have impacted my IPL form."

Kane Williamson opts out of the T20I series against India, focus on Test.



India vs New Zealand: The touring team captain Kane Williamson has opted to let go of the upcoming T20I series against India as he is looking forward to focusing on the test series. New Zealand has announced experienced pacer Tim Southee to be the stand-in skipper of the side.



The 15-men strong kiwi squad has arrived in Jaipur, where the first T20I between India and New Zealand is scheduled.&nbsp;



Following the three matches T20I series, the focus of the two clashing sides will shift to the red ball fixtures. India and New Zealand are scheduled to play two test matches scheduled in Kanpur and Mumbai respectively.

IND vs ENG: Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has announced his playing XI for the first T20I against England. The match between the two teams is all set to take place on Wednesday (22nd January) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
India and England will be locking horns with each other in the five-match T20I series. Both teams have a mixed combination of seniors and youngsters in the team, and with the way they have played of late, it's fair to say that it will be an exciting series to watch. 
Coming to the first T20I, Ravichandran Ashwin backed Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma to open the innings for the team. The duo has been doing a decent job together as an opener and would be hoping to carry on the same form in the upcoming first match. 
Sanju Samson was at his exceptional best in the T20Is last year as he slammed three tons. While on the other hand, Abhishek Sharma hasn't been able to maintain consistency. Hence the series will be extremely important for him with the bat. 
At No.3, Ravichandran Ashwin picked Tilak Varma. The left-hander oozed his class with the bat in the last series against South Africa. He batted at No.3 and slammed two back-to-back centuries. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav, as per Ashwin, will bat at No.4.
Hardik Pandya, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Axar Patel are the three all-rounders picked by Ravichandran Ashwin in his Indian XI for the first IND vs ENG T20I. They are expected to play a major role with the bat and ball. 
Rinku Singh also has been picked by Ravichandran Ashwin in his Indian XI for the first IND vs ENG team. He will be taking the role of finisher while there was no place for Ravi Bishnoi, who hard has put a foot wrong in his T20I career. Varun Chakravarthy will be there as per Ashwin.

Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali talked about the delay in the squad of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 for the Pakistan team. He said that it might look like they are scared of announcing the team, but it seems that they don't know what to do. 
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is around the corner and all the teams have named their squad for the tournament except the hosts Pakistan. The Men in Green are yet to announce the team even though the deadline of 12th January has already been surpassed by a long margin. 
India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan have all revealed their squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This has made many speculate about why Pakistan isn't announcing their squad for the tournament, which is less than one month away. 
There have been several reports that Pakistan will be announcing their squad for the tournament soon. They are awaiting the fitness of a few players, and hence, they will soon be naming the team. Some reports also have revealed the players who will be playing, but an official announcement is yet to come.

"Pakistan kya darr gaya jo abhi tak team announce nahi ki? Nahi dara nahi hai. Samajh nahi aa rahi hai -- karein to kya karein? (Is Pakistan scared to announce their squad? No, it isn't, just unsure what to do and what not). The biggest issue is whether Saim Ayub can return fit or not. It's still not clear." 
It remains to be seen when will Pakistan announce the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament is all set to take place from 19th February, with the final all set to be played on 9th March.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has issued a warning to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over the jersey controversy ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This comes after the Indian governing body refused to write 'Pakistan' on their kits for the tournament. 
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is all set to be hosted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is scheduled to begin on 19th February. The preparations for the tournament are on, and the ICC and the PCB are taking every step possible to make sure that everything is right on track. 
However, a controversy recently erupted after BCCI refused to write Pakistan on their jersey for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Notably, every participating nation, as per the ICC policy, has to write the name of the host nation below the logo of the tournament on their jersey. 
After BCCI refused to sport it, Pakistan Cricket Board officials made a strong statement, saying that BCCI is trying to use politics in every matter. He, however, mentioned that they are hopeful that ICC will support them and India will be asked to write the name of the jersey on their kits for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Following this, BCCI also reacted, and the insider from the governing body said that since they are playing in Dubai, it isn't mandatory for them to wear the 'Pakistan written jersey'. The BCCI also stressed that they didn't write Pakistan's name on the podium of the Trophy tours as well. 
Amid all this, ICC has come up with a strong response for the BCCI. An ICC official mentioned that it is the responsibility of the host nation to add the tournament logo to their jersey. He stated: 
"It is the responsibility of every team to add the tournament logo to their jerseys. All teams are obligated to comply with this rule," an ICC official said as per A-Sports, as quoted by NDTV. 
Not only this, it is learned that the ICC also warned BCCI that they would be taking strict action if they didn't wear the Pakistan-written jersey during the tournament.
