<p><strong>ICC Men's ODI Team Rankings:</strong> The time has come for the ICC ODI Team rankings and the International Cricket Council has recently updated the standings after the India tour of Sri Lanka 2024. <p>India recently toured Sri Lankan Island where they played a three-match T20I series followed by a three-match ODI series. The T20I series was full of joy for the visitors but the home team took a satisfying revenge in the ODI series. </p>

<p>Despite the comeback of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and other ODI specialists, India lost the ODI series 2-0 in the three-match ODI series. The first match resulted in a tie, followed by a good finish by Shivam Dube and a big miss by Arshdeep Singh. India lost the second and third ODI while chasing 240s at the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.</p>



<p>The Sri Lankans were the underdogs for the series. Injured Sri Lanka were anyhow trying to assemble their bowling powerhouses to give any competition to the visiting team but look how they come up to the rescue when it mattered the most. As most of the pacers were missing out on the series, the curators were asked to plant a spinning track and that is where they used the surface to their benefit.</p>

<p>Nothing to take anything away from the Sri Lankan bowlers. They were brilliant with the ball and tangled the Indian batters at every turn. Hence, a 2-0 ODI series win has earned them precious 3 Rating points and now they have overtaken England. </p>

<p>In the recent updates announced by the ICC, Sri Lanka climbed a spot and overtook England in the ICC Men's ODI Team Rankings. Sri Lanka previously had 94 rating points and after their series win, they have earned three 3 rating points. Now they are the 6th Ranked ODI team with 97 rating points. </p>



<p>Though India lost the bilateral series, India is still number one in the ODI team rankings. Indian bowlers did a fairly decent job but Sri Lanka were way ahead of us. India are the top-ranked team with 118 rating points.</p>



<p>They are followed by the World Champions Australia with 116 rating points after 34 matches. South Africa are also in the TOP 3 with 112 ratings. Below is the ICC Men's ODI Team Rankings Updated After IND vs SL ODI Series 2024:</p>

The Indian captain was the second-highest scorer in the tournament. <p>Though <a href="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/category/cricket-team/icc-teams/india/" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/category/cricket-team/icc-teams/india/">India</a> lost the series 2-0, <a href="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/suryakumar-yadav-on-verge-big-record/" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/suryakumar-yadav-on-verge-big-record/">Rohit Sharma </a>got the benefit of his remarkable performance. The Indian captain has been at his best since 2023 and has applied the aggressive approach at the top, irrespective of the format.</p>



<p>It has benefited him and the team, and now it has helped <a href="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/?s=Rohit+Sharma" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/?s=Rohit+Sharma">Rohit Sharma</a> climb to No. 2 in the ODI rankings. He is now the highest ranked Indian batter in ODIs and Tests both.</p>

<p>The latest rankings by the ICC confirmed <a href="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/ind-vs-aus-rohit-sharma-breaks-flurry-of-records-in-his-92-run-stand-check-the-full-list-here/" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/ind-vs-aus-rohit-sharma-breaks-flurry-of-records-in-his-92-run-stand-check-the-full-list-here/">Rohit Sharma</a> has replaced Shubman Gill from No. 2 position after his brilliant show in the Sri Lanka ODIs. Rohit scored 157 runs in three innings at an average of 52.53 and a strike rate of 141.44, with two half-centuries. He ended the series with most runs where other batters were struggling to score.</p>



<p>That performance has helped him in the ODI rankings. Rohit is only behind Babar Azam, who is at the top of the rankings. Babar has 824 rating points, while Rohit has 765. <a href="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/?s=Virat+Kohli" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/?s=Virat+Kohli">Virat Kohli </a>is in fourth place. The Indian captain had a brilliant chance to top the ODI rankings, which he has never done.</p>



<p>But unfortunately, <a href="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/category/cricket-team/icc-teams/india/" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/category/cricket-team/icc-teams/india/">India </a>don't have an ODI series before February, when they will play a three-match ODI series against England at home ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. Meanwhile, Pakistan have a few international ODI assignments, and Babar can strengthen his position at the top.</p>



<p>In team's rankings, India are at the top of the table in ODIs and T20Is, while Rohit Sharma and his men are second in Tests. In ODI bowlers ranking, Kuldeep Yadav is the highest-ranked Indian ODI bowler at fourth place, while <a href="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/jasprit-bumrah-bags-the-most-deserving-icc-player-of-the-month-award/" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/jasprit-bumrah-bags-the-most-deserving-icc-player-of-the-month-award/">Jasprit Bumrah</a> is at 8th place. Mohammed Siraj had a poor series against Sri Lanka and he has been dropped five spots to tenth.</p>
