PSL 2021 Postponed due to increasing covid cases inside the bubbles.



PSL 2021: Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 has been postponed with the immediate effect after players have got affected by the coronavirus. According to the report, three more covid cases came up on Thursday after the fresh round of testing. With three more players getting affected the tally reaches seven.



?The decision was made after seven cases were reported in the competition, which had started on 20 February,? an official release from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) stated.



The Pakistani T20 Tournament has been hindered by the series of covid cases inside the bio bubbles. The governing authorities confirmed the news on Thursday that three more unnamed players have been affected. According to the authorities, the players were of different teams.



PSL could only manage to host 14 games out of 34 before the series of cases hit the tournament.



The PCB said it ?will focus on the safe and secure passage of all participants, and arrange repeat PCR tests, vaccines and isolation facilities to the six participating sides.?



Earlier, English batsman Tom Banton claimed that he was one of the foreign players to get affected out of two and he was put into isolation for the safety of other players.



Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday said that two more foreign player and one member of the support staff had tested positive for the virus. It was further claimed that Australian eg-spinner Fawad Ahmed is also one of the players to be tested positive.



For the safety of the players and members of the management, PCB has decided to postpone the tournament as of now.?

PSL Season 6: Shahid Afridi blames PCB for PSL Season 6 postponement.



PSL Season 6: Former Pakistani skipper Shahid Afridi fired questions towards Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and blames them for the postponement of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 6. He added the cricket board were not prepared with a second-string plan to tackle the situation.



Players and the members from the support staff in the PSL were tested positive for the coronavirus. As many as seven members got infected with the virus post which the league was halted and postponed.



Shahid Afridi speaking at a function in Lahore said that PSL should not have been postponed if PCB had other plans to handle the situation.



?The PSL is a very big brand of Pakistan and Pakistan cricket and it is unfortunate that the PCB didn?t appear to have a plan B for this important event,? he said.



?But it appears they didn?t have a plan B when the COVID-19 cases were detected among some players and officials and this is surprising to me. The postponement didn?t send out a good message,? he said.



The owner of Quetta Gladiators, a franchise in PSL, held PCB responsible for the outburst of the virus as the board failed to maintain the safety standards in the T20 League.



?I think the PCB is 90 per cent responsible for the faults in the bio-secure bubble created for the tournament which eventually led to the postponement of the PSL,? he said.



Nadeem Omar, the owner of Quetta Gladiators, later admitted the miscommunication between PCB and six franchises of the Pakistan Super League which put them in a drastic situation.

Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 6 to resume from June 1.



Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday announced that the postponed games of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 6 with resume from June 1 in Karachi with all the safety protocols and precautions. The PCB also assured a strict action against those who will breach the SOPs.



All the cricketers who will be featuring in the T20 League will begin their seven days quarantine on May 22nd said the cricketing board.



The season 6 of the PSL was postponed after a series of covid 19 cases coming inside the bio-bubbles. Head coach of Peshawar Zalmi Daren Sammy and captain Wahab Riaz breached the protocols and went to meet the franchise owner Javed Afridi, who was not the part of the bio-security bubble.



PCB successfully conducted the 14 games of PSL before the covid-19 cases started to rise.



However this time PCB is committed to safely conduct the T20 league in the country and has also appointed two members fact-finding team for the same. This team will work closely with the franchises and the PCB for ensuring the bio-security. Suggestions will also be given in order to imporve the safety standards of the players as well as the staff members.



?The BoG discussed and debated the panel?s findings in detail. They expressed their disappointment at the failures that were highlighted in the report and advised remedial actions needed to be taken.



?The BoG endorsed all recommendations of the fact-finding panel, including robust and stringent implementation of the protocols, as well as maintaining a zero-tolerance approach towards all those who breach the Covid-19 SOPs, which are put in place for safeguarding the health and safety of all participants.?

Andree Russell opens up on bubble life, said it has definitely taken a toll on him.



West Indies flamboyant all-rounder Andree Russell on Friday talked about his bubble life which has ?definitely taken a toll on him? as more International and T20 leagues are going ahead with covid protocols still in place.



In conversation with Geo News from Abu Dhabi, Russell said that, "I think it's taking a toll on myself.?



"I can't talk for any other player, or coaches or anyone that goes through this whole quarantine stuff. But it's definitely taken a toll on me mentally because from bubble to bubble, in a room locked in, you can't go out for a walk, you can't go certain places, you can't socialise, it's different,? added the all-rounder.



The West Indies cricketer is all set to take part in the suspended PSL which will resume in the UAE next week. Season six of the Pakistan Super League was also midway suspended due to a surge in covid cases due to a possible bubble breach.



"But at the end of the day, I'm not being ungrateful, I'm grateful that we're still playing, we're still doing our job. So it's tough for us. But even though we prepared for it, it still takes a toll," he added.



The Jamaican Cricketer likes to keep himself involved in physical activities even though he is confined to his hotel rooms during the quarantine days. He revealed that he does a lot of exercises and loves to have bike around to keep up his heart rate.



?"So for me, I like to have a bike or something in my room so that I can get my heart rate up. I would utilise the space that I have, go on the floor, do some of some push-ups. For some exercise, I use stuff in the room to just get something done."

Season 6 of the PSL will resume on Monday with the final slated to be held on June 24th. The cricketers will go straight to the matches and will not have enough time for training sessions.



Russell said that he has played in hot conditions before as well, however, this time it is different. Usually, he is always up for the challenge because they are used to the conditions and have been into multiple training sessions, but this time they will go straight to the matches.



"The night won't be as bad as the day games but if it's a day game, we just have to be up for the challenge. We are professionals, so we have to condition our minds to deal with the heat and the weather."



After the completion of the assignment from PSL, Russell will have a home series against South Africa, Australia and Pakistan after which, he will prepare himself for CPL.

PSL 2023 Final: Anticipation Builds as Teams Prepare for PSL Final Showdown: The results of eliminator round 2 of PSL are out and we now have two clear names of teams locking horns at the PSl final today? Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars. After 7 victories and 3 losses from their first 10 matches in the league, Lahore Qalandars are in first place in the points chart for the 2023 Pakistan Super League (PSL). The bets are high on Multan sultans after they destroyed Qalandars in the last match where they won by 84 runs. India has been without the services of Rinku Singh for the last two games of the IND vs ENG series. The left-hander sustained a low back spasm while fielding in the first game and was then ruled out of the next two games of the series as he was under the observation of the BCCI medical team. 
In his place, the India team added Dhruv Jurel to the XI, and the move didn't pay off. The keeper-batter batted lower down the order and struggled to get going in both games, and it potentially cost them the last match of the series.
