Pakistan Tour of Ireland: Pakistan team's main wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan is currently out of the ongoing five-match T20 series between Pakistan and New Zealand. Curently, Usman Khan is replacing Rizwan against Blackcaps. The biggest concern for the Pakistan board is Rizwan, after the New Zealand series the team will leave for Ireland where a three-match T20 series will be played between the two teams. In such a situation, captain Babar Azam has given Rizwan's injury update, which we will look at in this article.



While batting in the third match played in Rawalpindi, Mohammad Rizwan had hamstring problem and as a result, he retired hurt. In his place, Usman Khan was handling the responsibility of wicketkeeping in the second innings.



The PCB Medical Panel received Rizwan's radiology reports after which the team management decided to rest the 31-year-old wicketkeeper batsman in the series against New Zealand.



When captain Babar Azam was asked about Rizwan's tour of Ireland, he replied, "Whenever a main player gets injured, a team misses him. The way he has served Pakistan and performances he has produced are in front of everyone,".



"It is not a major injury and we are trying to save him as much as we can. He will undergo rehabilitation at the NCA and I am confident he will get fit before the Ireland series," - Skipper Babar Azam



After the New Zealand series is over, the Men in Green will leave for the Ireland tour where a three-match series will be played between the two teams on 10th, 12th, and 14th May in Clontarf, Dublin.

PAK vs IRE T20I Series: After playing a draw T20I series against New Zealand at home, Pakistan are set to tour Ireland for a three-match T20I series. The series will kick-start on 10 April and all the three T20Is will be played at a single venue in Ireland. Originally slated for July 2020, a two-match T20I series was canceled because of the Covid-19 epidemic. This series will mark a notable milestone as Pakistan and Ireland's first multi-match bilateral T20I meeting. The two sides have only faced once before in the shortest format, which occurred in a one-off game in 2009.



Pakistan recently had a T20I series against New Zealand at home, which would have made some doubts clear for them in order to prepare for T20 World Cup. This series and the England tour which is scheduled shortly after this series play a major role in Pakistan's direction and mindset for the upcoming ICC main event.

Shaheen Shah was exceptional in the home series and his role in Ireland and England will be huge. He might get company from Mohammad Amir and surely Naseem Shah. There is an uncertainty on Haris Rauf making his spot in the playing 11. 



The three-match T20I series will start on May 10 and each game has a 1-day gap in between. The first T20I will be played on May 10 at 02:30 PM IST at Clontarf Cricket Club Ground, Dublin. The same venue will host the other two contests on May 12 and May 14.



The squads for the series are not announced yet but Pakistan might go with an almost similar lineup that they had against New Zealand with some minor changes. Haris Rauf might make his comeback to the squad and Mohammad Haris may also find his name in the final cut.

PAK vs IRE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to announce Pakistan's T20I Squad for the tour of Ireland and England on Wednesday. The development comes after PCB chief Moshin Naqvi held a media talk on Tuesday at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.



Pakistan and Ireland are slated to meet for a short three-match T20I series, starting May 10. The fixtures of the PAK vs IRE T20Is will be held at Clontarf Cricket Club Ground, Dublin. The second and third games of the series will be held on May 12 and 14 respectively in Dublin.



Following the completion of the Ireland tour, Pakistan is also scheduled to visit the current World T20 Champions - England. The two sides will play out an unusual four-game T20I series, starting May 22. The fixtures will be held in Leeds, Birmingham, Cardiff and London.



?We will announce the squad for the England T20I series tomorrow [Wednesday, May 01],? Moshin Naqvi, PCB chief, said during a media talk on Tuesday at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi.



Notably, Pakistan has also not announced its final 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA. The deadline to announce the provisional squad for the coveted event is May 1.



Interestingly, Pakistan may enforce some changes into their T20I squad following an embarrassing series draw against the second-string New Zealand side recently. The Kiwis managed to pin Pakistan with a scoreline of 2-2 in the five-match T20I series held recently.



In spite of having a full-strength T20I outfit, Pakistan felt jitters in defeating New Zealand. Pakistan got the upper hand in the second T20I after the first game was washed out, but the visitors toppled the scoreline with their win in the third and fourth match. In the last fixture, the Babar Azam-led Pakistan managed to get hold of the situation and defeated the Kiwis to draw the series 2-2.



Meanwhile, Moshin Naqvi also talked about the discussions around the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025, which is scheduled to be held in Pakistan. The <a href="https://www.pcb.com.pk/news.html">PCB</a> chief brushed aside all the reports of the hybrid model of play and asserted that all the teams, including India, will be visiting Pakistan for the event.



?We have sent the schedule [of the Champions Trophy] to the ICC, all eight teams will come. There is no reason as to why India would refuse to come. We are not thinking of a hybrid model, there is no talk of the sort,? Naqvi said.

Pakistan Men's National Cricket Team's fast bowler Mohammad Amir has not travelled with the Men in Green's squad for the tour of Ireland which left for Dublin on Tuesday as he's facing visa issues.



The 32 year old made his return to International Cricket in a home T20i series against New Zealand this year after a span of four long years. He played four games against the Kiwis and he even found a place in the Shaheens squad for the Ireland and England series.



Mohammad Amir is a permanent United Kingdom resident having married a British girl - Narjis Khatun. He has travelled to Ireland before in 2018 but he has not received the Irish visa this year.



The PCB is in constant contact with Cricket Ireland as they believe that it was the responsibility of the hosts Cricket Board to ensure that Pakistan's players got their visa's issued on time. The visa of the Men in Green's batting coach Mohammad Yousuf got delayed as well but he received the visa in time and travelled with the squad as per schedule.



Both Amir and PCB are waiting for his visa to get approved while the Pakistani squad arrived in Dublin today. They are going to play three T20 internationals against the Irish.



The Babar Azam-led team will travel to England for a four match T20i series after the conclusion of the Ireland series ahead of the 2024?T20?World?Cup.

Prithvi Shaw did not find any takers as the Mumbai batter went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction. Prithvi, who had a base price of Rs 75 lakh in the auction, was released by Delhi Capitals but he did not attract any bids from the ten franchises.
Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal has said that Prithvi Shaw is misunderstood in many ways but needed a 'jolt' in the form of the IPL 2025 Auction snub. Shaw has been part of the Delhi franchise since returning as the U-19 World Cup winning captain in 2018 and was bought for 1.2 Crores. Ahead of the 2022 auction, the Mumbai batter was retained by DC for Rs. 7.5 Crore but the past few seasons hasn't been great for the 25-year-old.
Speaking to Sports Today, Jindal said that Shaw is a great kid but needed a jolt to get up from his slumber. The DC co-owner feels that Shaw needs to work hard, get back the love of the game and get disciplined. Jindal ended by saying he hopes the Mumbai batter can return back to his best form
Delhi has backed Prithvi Shaw a lot. DC had hoped that he is a powerplay player and would hit 6 boundaries in one over. And he did that too. He hit Shivam Mavi for 6 fours in an over. He had a lot of potential and DC backed him to the hilt. We always thought that if Shaw manages to score, we will win. And we gave him a lot of chances," Kaif told on Jio Cinema.

Prithvi got a lot of chances and teams have now finally moved on, and it is a matter of embarrassment that he did not get a bid for Rs 75 lakh. Maybe now, he finally goes back to basics. Someone like Sarfaraz Khan got into the national team by scoring lots and lots of runs," he concluded.
In the 79 matches he has played, Shaw has scored 1892 runs at an average of 23.95 and a strike-rate of 147.47. He also scored 14 fifties during this time.

Tom Banton entered, and he and Waseem made sure the MI Emirates maintained the run rate.
Banton was out for nine around the halfway point of the innings, while Waseem was out for 38 shortly after. Kieron Pollard replaced skipper Nicholas Pooran, but the seasoned right-hander struggled to get going and was eventually sent out for five by Ali Khan. With just over 6 overs remaining, the score was at 102/4.
Following Dan Mousley's dismissal for six, Romario Shepherd joined his skipper for the innings' last stretch. Jason Holder made a solid 49, but Pooran, who was hitting it cleanly, was almost at his half-century before he fell.

But Narine was caught at cover for 13 in the 18th over, and David Willey was dismissed by Fazalhaq Farooqi in the 19th. The MI Emirates won easily, and Russell, who was still undefeated at 37 from 23 deliveries, was unable to lead his team across the finish line.

Hardik Pandya, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Axar Patel are the three all-rounders picked by Ravichandran Ashwin in his Indian XI for the first IND vs ENG T20I. They are expected to play a major role with the bat and ball. 
Rinku Singh also has been picked by Ravichandran Ashwin in his Indian XI for the first IND vs ENG team. He will be taking the role of finisher while there was no place for Ravi Bishnoi, who hard has put a foot wrong in his T20I career. Varun Chakravarthy will be there as per Ashwin.

Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali talked about the delay in the squad of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 for the Pakistan team. He said that it might look like they are scared of announcing the team, but it seems that they don't know what to do. 
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is around the corner and all the teams have named their squad for the tournament except the hosts Pakistan. The Men in Green are yet to announce the team even though the deadline of 12th January has already been surpassed by a long margin. 
India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan have all revealed their squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This has made many speculate about why Pakistan isn't announcing their squad for the tournament, which is less than one month away. 
There have been several reports that Pakistan will be announcing their squad for the tournament soon. They are awaiting the fitness of a few players, and hence, they will soon be naming the team. Some reports also have revealed the players who will be playing, but an official announcement is yet to come.

Amid all this, former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali commented on the same, saying that no one knows what is happening. He speculated that they might be waiting for the fitness report on Saim Ayub. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he explained: 
"Pakistan kya darr gaya jo abhi tak team announce nahi ki? Nahi dara nahi hai. Samajh nahi aa rahi hai -- karein to kya karein? (Is Pakistan scared to announce their squad? No, it isn't, just unsure what to do and what not). The biggest issue is whether Saim Ayub can return fit or not. It's still not clear." 
It remains to be seen when will Pakistan announce the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament is all set to take place from 19th February, with the final all set to be played on 9th March.
