India vs England: The contingent of India and England have reached the iconic refurbished Sardar Patel Stadium and has already begun training. While some of the cricketers and support staff members from both sides have tweeted about the ground.



The star all-rounder of visiting camp, Ben Stokes is one of them. The newly refurbished Motera Stadium is the biggest cricketing ground in the world with 110,000 fans seating capacity. The stadium was closed in 2015 for reconstruction and since then no international game was played here.



India vs England third test which will be the pink ball test will be the beginning of the international cricket in the stadium. The third test will begin on the 24th of February. The stadium has hosted the knockout games of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and is all set to host the India vs England international fixture.



Ben Stokes quoted a video tweeted by England Cricket Board (ECB), which showed the England players doing sprints.



?Some stadium this is? and a bit of local music will help to get through the end,? wrote Stokes on Twitter account as the PA system at the venue played Vande Mataram.

Apart from Ben Stokes, Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant tweeted a picture along with skipper Virat Kohli, spinner Axar Patel and Ishant Sharma at the gym.

Sardar Patel Stadium named after Indian PM Narendra Modi.



Narendra Modi Stadium: Indian President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday inaugurated the refurbished Sardar Patel Stadium and the stadium has been renamed the Narendra Modi Stadium. The ground that was widely known as Moetra Stadium is named after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was also formerly the president of the Gujrat Cricket Association. While the name of the ground has been renamed Narendra Modi Stadium but the complex will remain as planned Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave in the city.



Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, BCCI secretary Jay Shah also made their presence in the stadium.&nbsp;



Narendra Modi Stadium will host its first international fixture on Wednesday as India vs England 3rd (Day/Night) Test.



<h2>The stadium was conceptualized by Narendra Modi:</h2>



President Ram Nath Kovind in his inaugural speech said, ?The ground was planned and conceptualized by Narendra Modi and he was also the president of the Gujrat Cricket Association at that time.?



"This stadium is an example of eco-friendly development," he added.



?The Narendra Modi Stadium can accommodate as many as 1,32,000 fans at a time. This will be the world's biggest sports stadium," Home Minister Amit Shah said at the event.



"Coupled with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave and Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, a sports complex will also be built-in Naranpura. These three will be equipped to host any international sports event," he said.



?Ahmedabad will be known as the Sports City of India and Olympics games can also be hosted here at&nbsp; Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave,? said Amit Shah.



Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said it is a proud moment not only for Cricket but for the whole country. Apart from being the world largest stadium, the ground is equipped with world-class technologies and facilities.



Narendra Modi Stadium earlier hosted the knockout games of the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The ground will be further hosting back to back seven international fixtures against England.



The last two test games and the five games T20I series against England will be held in the Narendra Modi Ground.

Narendra Modi Stadium Facts behind Ambani and Adani Ends: On Wednesday, the revamped Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad was renamed after Indian sitting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated stadium has been the epicentre of the controversies since it has been renamed. To add more to it, the two bowling ends have been named after two Indian Business giants Ambani and Adani.



Several politicians erupted and started blaming the BJP government for insulting the legacy of Sardar Patel Stadium. While there are controversies revolving around it, we will take a look at the facts behind the two bowling ends Ambani End and Adani End.



The name of the Ground has been changed but the whole sports complex will be known as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave that consists of Badminton Courts, Swimming Pools, Squash area and other sports facilities.



According to Timesnownews.com, both the business giants have made hefty donations in the construction of the project which involved The World?s Largest Cricket Stadium. Also, both Ambani and Adani?s have brought corporate boxes each for a period of 25 years. Buying corporate boxes have cost them over 250 Crores + GST. According to the agreement done, the two bowling ends will be named as per the wish of the donor, in this case, it was Adani and Ambani.



It is noteworthy that the Adani End in the stadium existed since the Congress regime in the state. Sources confirmed that the Reliance end or Ambani End earlier belonged to the Government body but as they are the donor, it will be named after them.



Government is in talks with the big corporate giants to sell the other Corporate Boxes in the Stadium. Narendra Modi Stadium consists of a total of 76 Corporate boxes. The stadium is equipped with world-class facilities at its fingertips.?

The second match of the three-match ODI series between India and England was played on 9 February (Sunday) at Barabaati Stadium of Cuttack and in this game, the Indian Team secured an easy win by a margin of four wickets and took an unassailable lead of 2-0. Skipper Rohit Sharma played a fiery knock of 119 runs in 90 deliveries, which consisted of 12 fours and seven sixes. 
<h2>KL Rahul's below par performance with the bat continues</h2>
The return of Rohit Sharma to his explosive form was a good news for the Indian fans but wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul delivered yet another disappointing performance with the bat in this match as well. He returned to dugout after scoring just 10 runs and even in the previous match of the series, the 31-year-old managed to score just two runs. 
In both games, the former LSG skipper had a chance to apply the finishing touches but, he returned to the pavilion and failed to help the Men in Blue get over the line. 
Even in last year's Sri Lanka tour, Rahul wasn't able to do anything special with the bat, managing to score just 31 runs in two innings. Rishabh Pant replaced him in the side in the 3rd ODI. If we take a close look at his stats, then we get to know that Rahul has amassed just 43 runs in the last four One-Day International games at a miserable average of 10.75, which goes on to reflect his struggles in the format. 
Rahul's glove work was also poor in the Cuttack ODI as his mistake led to Joe Root getting a lifeline. On his advice, skipper Rohit Sharma decided not to take the DRS review versus Root but the replays later showed that the ball was hitting the stumps.
After watching the replays, skipper Rohit regretted the decision of not taking the DRS and was very pissed off with KL Rahul. A wicketkeeper's advice is very important in taking a call of DRS reviews for LBW. 
<h2>Will Pant get a chance to play in the 3rd ODI? </h2>
The question which arises here is, will the Indian team management carry on with KL Rahul as the main wicketkeeper in the 3rd &amp; Final ODI of the series in Ahmedabad? Wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant is a part of the squad as well and the 27-year-old is a better wicketkeeper than KL Rahul and also has a lot of experience of keeping the wickets on bouncy &amp; spinning tracks. 
The newly appointed LSG skipper has participated in 31 One-Day International matches for the Men in Blue, where he has managed to score 871 runs at a decent average of 33.50. He has also slammed five fifties and a century in the format. 
KL Rahul, on the other hand, has amassed 2,863 runs in 79 ODI games at an average of 47.71 with the help of seven hundreds and 18 fifties. While the statistics of the latter are better than the former, constant failures of the latter with the bat is increasing the tension of the Indian team management ahead of Champions Trophy 2025.The team management would definitely want to give an attacking batsman like Pant a chance to prove himself before the commencement of the Champions Trophy.

In the T20 International series, Mooney carried on with her good form, scoring 213 runs at an amazing strike rate or 146.89 and cemented her position as the top-ranked batter. She scored 75 runs in 44 balls before going on to smash an unbeaten 94 runs off 63 deliveries in Adelaide, her highest score in the shortest format of the game in five years, to guide the Kangaroos to a dominant series victory versus their Fierce-Rivals.
She also won the Player-of-the-Match accolade for her incredible performances in both the first &amp; the last T20 International games of the series and she also ended the series as the highest run getter.

Jomel Warrican, the slow left-arm orthodox spinner of the West Indies has been crowned ICC Men's Player of the Month for January of 2025, thanks to his brilliant performance with the ball in the two-match Test Series versus Pakistan. 
The ICC Player of the Month award recognizes the outstanding individual displays and performances of the players at the highest level of Cricket and the nominees selected for the month of January were all spin bowlers who excelled across various formats of the game. 
Warrican faced tough competition from India's mystery leg spinner Varun Chakaravarthy and Noman Ali of Pakistan. The West Indian spinner delivered the best performance of his career with the ball versus the Shaheens and helped his team draw the two-match series. 
In the first Test-Match, the 32-year-old ended the match with figures of 10-101 to his name which also turned out to be the best bowling figures of his career in the longest format of the game and with the bat, he played an unbeaten knock of 31* runs. 
In the second match of the series, he carried forward his good momentum of the first contest into the second one and delivered yet another amazing performance, as he dismissed four Pakistani batters in the first inning and followed it up with a fifer in the second inning, ending the match with figures of 9-70.
In addition to his terrific performance with the ball, the 32-year-old also contributed 54 runs with the bat as the Windies marched their way to victory in the second encounter, thereby ensuring the series ended in a draw.  
Overall, Warrican scored a total of 85 runs at a good average of 42.50 and also claimed 19 scalps at an exceptional average of nine, earning him the Man-of-the-Series award.
