The decision of inviting the opponents to bat first looked unusual as a stand-in Australian skipper made the hell out of Indian bowlers in the powerplay. Wade banged on to score a brilliant half-century inside 7 overs.



However, he got out after Virat dropped a simple catch but in retaliation, he got run out due to the misunderstanding with Steve Smith at another end. Steve Smith continued to shine with the bat as he scored 46 runs from 38 balls.



However, Indian bowlers were successful in giving breakthroughs on regular occasions. At the end of the 1st innings, Moises Henriques and Marcus Stoinis propelled Australia to a heavy total in 20 overs.



Australia managed to get to 194 runs in 20 overs as Mathew Wade and Steve Smith shines with the bat.



For India young sensation T. Natarajan picked two scalps while Chahal and Thakur got one each.



<h2>India Innings:</h2>



To counter the mammoth total against Australia, India got a perfect start with openers KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan. Andrew Tye got Rahul in the 6th over of the innings with a ball-carrying top edge.



Shikhar Dhawan and skipper Virat Kohli shared a match-winning partnership to set a tone for the rest of the overs. Dhawan got out 52 short just after completing his half-century.



Virat Kohli then picked some of the fancy shorts to propel through the huge total but was caught behind with a flying catch off Danial Sams.



Hardik Pandya took complete charge of the innings, finishing the game with consecutive sixes with two balls to spare.



Pandya scored 42 runs off just 22 balls which includes 3 boundaries and 2 maximums. With the win, India sealed the series with an undefendable 2-0 lead against Australia.



The 3rd and final T20I will be at the same venue on 08th December, Tuesday.

Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021: Team India?s limited over opener Shikhar Dhawan is all set to lead Delhi in the most competitive Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2020-21. Speedster Ishant Sharma is likely to make his return with the shortest format. Sharma will join the Delhi squad directly after his rehab at National Cricket Acadamy (NCA) Bangalore.



Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) announced a 20 men squad for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Monday afternoon. The tournament will begin on 10th January and the senior pacer will make his return to competitive cricket after missing out on Australia?s test leg.



Shikhar Dhawan last featured in international cricket last month against Australia where he scored 201 runs including two half-centuries.



"In the Senior Selection Committee meeting held on Sunday attended by Ashu Dani (Chairman), Mohan Chaturvedi (Selector), Chetnya Nanda (Selector), Shikhar Dhawan (Captain), Rajkumar Sharma (Coach) and Atul Wassan (Member CAC-DDCA), following players have been selected to represent Delhi in the Syed Mushtaq All Trophy T20 Tournament for the Domestic Season 2020-21," DDCA stated in a document.



DDCA has asked all the selected players to report to the newly appointed head coach Rajkumar Sharma and Gursharan Singh at Delhi?s home ground. Ahmedabad?s Motera Stadium is scheduled to host all the knockout matches of the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.



Along with skipper Shikhar Dhawan and Ishant Sharma, Nitish Rana and Pawan Negi have also included in the 20-member squad.



All the states have been ordered by the BCCI to assemble at their respective venues by January 2.

India vs England T20Is: Pressure piles up on Shikhar Dhawan to retain his T20I spot.



India vs England T20Is: Young Ishan Kishan succeeding in his debut game as an opener may put up pressure on Shikhar Dhawan to retain his opening spot in the Indian T20I side ahead of the T20 World Cup that is slated in October-November this year in India.



In the previous two T20I?s against England, Virat Kohli and management tried two opening combination. Opener Rohit Sharma was rested and will be the first choice opener for the T20 World Cup later this year. However, the place for the second opener is still not confirmed.&nbsp;



India tried to come-up with KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan in the first T20I, but the combination failed to score runs and provide a good start to the Indian side. KL Rahul scored a single run while Shikhar Dhawan scored 12 balls four.



Shikhar Dhawan who was consistent in India?s blue colour for years was dropped from the playing 11 in the second T20I against England and young debutant Ishan Kishan was given an opportunity along with KL Rahul.



While from one end Ishan Kishan used his chance to make a dream debut, KL Rahul from other continued poor run as he was dismissed by Sam Curran for nought.



Now, it is unlikely that left-handed opener Shikhar Dhawan will return to the Indian side unless Rohit Sharma extends his resting period. Virat Kohli will bring back Rohit Sharma in the playing 11 in the 3rd T20I against England while the other end will be occupied with his Mumbai Indians counterpart Ishan Kishan.



Dhawan in the Australia series helped India to chase 195 runs in the first T20I scoring 52 runs off 36 balls. However, since then he has undergone multiple failures up the order.



<h2>Shikhar Dhawan T20I series in past months:</h2>



Prior to the lockdown period, Shikhar Dhawan had missed to play T20I series against New Zealand. KL Rahul took the opportunity and scored good runs with Rohit Sharma and the pair looked first choice contenders for opening in the T20 World Cup.



In his return to the Indian side in Australia, Dhawan had just one good game. In the absence of Rohit Sharma in the Australia tour, Dhawan amassed 1, 52, 28 and 4 int he four T20I innings.



Talking about Dhawan?s domestic run lately, the results aren?t encouraging either. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy games, he scored 23, 5, 77 and 0. The recent Vijay Hazare Trophy was also unfruitful for him as scores 0, 6, 0, 153 and 44 sums up the story.



However, the left-handed opener had a brilliant season of IPL in UAE. Playing for Delhi Capitals, Dhawan scored 618 runs with two back to back centuries.



It will not be a good option for Indian management to drop him from the white ball squad. He will be around the squad and in contention for the opener?s spot for the ICC T20 World Cup.



It will be interesting to watch if he gets enough opportunity to prove his worth again to the management.? Vivo IPL 2021 will be a deciding factor whether he will be the opener or he will get dropped again.

Vivo IPL 2021: Team India and Delhi Capitals (DC) opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan has donated INR 20 Lakhs to an NCR based NGO for the purchase of Oxygen Cylinders to fight the second wave of global pandemic in the country.



The veteran cricketer has also pledged to donate all his prize money received from the IPL games for the cause after the end of the fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).



Earlier, former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar (1 Crore), West Indies and Punjab Kings cricketer Nicholas Pooran and Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Jaydev Unadkat (10 percent of his IPL salary) have also contributed from their side.



Tendulkar and Shikhar Dhawan donated the sum to the same NGO which is ?Oxygen India? ? run by 250 entrepreneurs based out of the National Capital Region (NCR), one of the worst affected in the country.



?We are in unprecedented times right now and it is the need of the hour that we do everything possible to help each other out,? Dhawan posted on social media.



?I will be making a donation of Rs 20 lakh plus money from all post-match individual performances awards that I receive from IPL 2021 towards Mission Oxygen to help fund the requirement of Oxygen,? Dhawan wrote.

The One Day Internationals will embark on the beginning of the tour with three ODIs scheduled to be held on July 13, 16 and 18 followed by the T20Is on July 21, 23 and 25.



The board has given maiden international call-ups to six young cricketers - Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Krishnappa Gowtham, Chetan Sakariya, Varun Chakravarthy, and Nitish Rana.



The selection committee has also named five net bowlers for the tour in - Ishan Porel, Sandeep Warrier, Arshdeep Singh, Sai Kishore, Simarjeet Singh.

IND vs ENG: Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has announced his playing XI for the first T20I against England. The match between the two teams is all set to take place on Wednesday (22nd January) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
India and England will be locking horns with each other in the five-match T20I series. Both teams have a mixed combination of seniors and youngsters in the team, and with the way they have played of late, it's fair to say that it will be an exciting series to watch. 
Coming to the first T20I, Ravichandran Ashwin backed Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma to open the innings for the team. The duo has been doing a decent job together as an opener and would be hoping to carry on the same form in the upcoming first match. 
Sanju Samson was at his exceptional best in the T20Is last year as he slammed three tons. While on the other hand, Abhishek Sharma hasn't been able to maintain consistency. Hence the series will be extremely important for him with the bat. 
At No.3, Ravichandran Ashwin picked Tilak Varma. The left-hander oozed his class with the bat in the last series against South Africa. He batted at No.3 and slammed two back-to-back centuries. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav, as per Ashwin, will bat at No.4.

India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan have all revealed their squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This has made many speculate about why Pakistan isn't announcing their squad for the tournament, which is less than one month away. 
There have been several reports that Pakistan will be announcing their squad for the tournament soon. They are awaiting the fitness of a few players, and hence, they will soon be naming the team. Some reports also have revealed the players who will be playing, but an official announcement is yet to come.

No, it isn't, just unsure what to do and what not). The biggest issue is whether Saim Ayub can return fit or not. It's still not clear." 
It remains to be seen when will Pakistan announce the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament is all set to take place from 19th February, with the final all set to be played on 9th March.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has issued a warning to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over the jersey controversy ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This comes after the Indian governing body refused to write 'Pakistan' on their kits for the tournament. 
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is all set to be hosted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is scheduled to begin on 19th February. The preparations for the tournament are on, and the ICC and the PCB are taking every step possible to make sure that everything is right on track. 
However, a controversy recently erupted after BCCI refused to write Pakistan on their jersey for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Notably, every participating nation, as per the ICC policy, has to write the name of the host nation below the logo of the tournament on their jersey. 
After BCCI refused to sport it, Pakistan Cricket Board officials made a strong statement, saying that BCCI is trying to use politics in every matter. He, however, mentioned that they are hopeful that ICC will support them and India will be asked to write the name of the jersey on their kits for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Following this, BCCI also reacted, and the insider from the governing body said that since they are playing in Dubai, it isn't mandatory for them to wear the 'Pakistan written jersey'. The BCCI also stressed that they didn't write Pakistan's name on the podium of the Trophy tours as well. 
Amid all this, ICC has come up with a strong response for the BCCI. An ICC official mentioned that it is the responsibility of the host nation to add the tournament logo to their jersey. He stated: 
"It is the responsibility of every team to add the tournament logo to their jerseys. All teams are obligated to comply with this rule," an ICC official said as per A-Sports, as quoted by NDTV. 
Not only this, it is learned that the ICC also warned BCCI that they would be taking strict action if they didn't wear the Pakistan-written jersey during the tournament.
