Sourav Ganguly: The president of the richest board of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly says he is "absolutely fine" after he left the Woodland?s Hospital in Kolkata. Ganguly who suffered mild cardiac arrest got discharged from the hospital on Thursday and looked fine to all the supporters.

?We all visit hospitals to save ourselves and that has proven correct. I thank all the doctors of Woodland?s Hospital Kolkata who took excellent care of me. I am here standing because of them. I am right now absolutely fine. I hope taht I will be ready to sly soon,? Sourav Ganguly said while leaving the hospital.



The BCCI president had an angioplasty on his right coronary artery after he suffered a mild cardiac arrest on Saturday. He was soon rushed to the Woodland?s Hospital. Ganguly is right now on oral medications and will be regularly monitored by the doctors and nurses at his home. Two more coronary arteries have blockage right now and the proper treatment with medical procedures will be held soon after he gets completely fine.



?Sourav Ganguly will be monitored regularly even after he is discharged. All the process will be held in his home only on daily basis,? said Dr. Rupali Basu, MD, and CEO of Woodlands Hospital.

India vs England: Rishabh Pant will be all-time great says, Sourav Ganguly.



India vs England: All the former players from the cricket fraternity erupted as Rishabh Pant scored a scintillating hundred on Day 2 of the fourth test match. Pant amassed 101 runs in 118 deliveries to put India back to the driving seat after a series of breakthroughs in the first two sessions. His 101 runs knock included 13 boundaries and 2 towering sixes.



Pant came to bat when India were well behind over 100 runs after the wicket of vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane. Rishabh Pant at the beginning batted sensibly to set on the crease along with Rohit Sharma.



After the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin, Pant stitched a strong partnership with Washington Sundar of 113 runs for the seventh wicket.



The wicketkeeper-batsman started to accelerate once India levelled the scored. At the end of Day 02, India are 89 runs ahead of visitors with 3 wickets in hand.



Pant?s innings kept everyone speechless and even former Indian skipper and current president of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Sourav Ganguly hailed his performance through a Tweet.

In the game, India wrapped England in the third session with 205 runs on Board. For India Axar Patel picked four wickets, Ashwin got two, Mohammad Siraj got two while Washington Sundar picked one.

India vs New Zealand ICC World Test Championship 2021 to be held in Southampton.



ICC World Test Championship 2021: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly on Monday cleared that the final between India and New Zealand of the ICC World Test Championship will be held in Southampton.



Initially, ICC scheduled the iconic final of the inaugural Test tournament at the home of cricket ?Lords? however due to the deteriorating conditions it has been shifted to Ageas Bowl Stadium, Southampton.



The venue was finalised because of its five-star lodging facilities inside the stadium premises. The final will begin on 18th June between India and New Zealand.



?Yes, the final will be held at Ageas Bowl,? Ganguly replied to a query from PTI.



India reached the final of the iconic test tournament, after thrashing England by 3-1 in the home test series. Both England and India were in the contention race in the home test series.



According to the reports, Sourav Ganguly will be present in Southampton during the marquee clash between India and New Zealand in the final.



?I will go for the World Test Championship and hopefully we can get past New Zealand in the final. New Zealand will be there before us and they will play a couple of Test matches (against England),? Ganguly told ?India Today? channel.



Ganguly praised the Indian contingent to perform outstandingly in the last two test series. India conquered Australia by 2-1 in the four-game series while 3-1 against England.



It seems that Ganguly is impressed with the youngster?s performances in both series. The young guns came blazing in the Australia tour when all the key players got injured. Mohammad Siraj showed great composure and grit and so do Rishabh Pant.



Axar Patel in the recent series had a tremendous outing. Washington Sundar was also a key performer for the Indian outfit.

IPL 2021: Sourav Ganguly hinted at ?no crowd? for the whole IPL 2021.



IPL 2021: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly hinted that the whole forthcoming IPL might be played behind the closed gates with spectators. Ganguly said that the option to host the entire IPL without fans cannot be ruled out, stating entry of spectators could possibly pose the risk to the players.



BCCI secretary Jay Shah while unveiling the IPL 2021 Schedule on Sunday said that an unspecified part of the IPL 2021 will be played without fans.



It, however, looks contradictory for normal people to understand why BCCI is not allowing the fans to IPL games if they can allow them to the recent games of India vs England.



Explaining the move, Ganguly said, hosting a long 52 days tournament is different from having a bilateral series.&nbsp;



"Don't know yet, depends on the situation," Ganguly told India Today on Monday. "It's [IPL] slightly different than a bilateral [series]. If you open up to crowds, there are teams playing in middle, there are teams practising outside as well. A lot of these stadiums have practice pitches outside, and teams practice there because they play every day. So to open it up to crowds, you expect them to get closer to the practising teams. So that could be a bit of a risk."



<h2>Why IPL 2021 is being conducted without fans?</h2>



It will be the second time when IPL will be conducted without the fans. Ganguly said, last time also they kept the same policy. Started with the empty stadiums in Dubai and thought of opening it in the latter half however, the tournament went well so they didn?t opt to put anyone at risk.



"Dubai also was the same: we started closed doors and expected to open out to the crowds, but since it went so well, we didn't take the risk of having crowds back, so we'll see."



A strong reason why the BCCI wants incident-free IPL is due to the fact that India will be hosting the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 later in the year. The ICC tournament will be played in the window of October and November. The venues are yet not finalised by the authorities.&nbsp;



Chief executive officer Manu Sawhney in a recent interview said that they will be closely monitoring the conduction of IPL and then only take a call.



The BCCI has made their minds to scrap the home and away games for this year and opted for six neutral venues. Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Delhi and Ahmedabad will be hosting a 52-day long tournament and each team have to fly only thrice this time.

Ganguly was named for India?s tour to Australia back in 1992 and didn?t get a single opportunity to feature. He recalled the moment and said how that series helped him to be a better cricketer in the following years.



?The 1992 series in Australia was a failure for me. I didn?t get enough opportunity to play. But that time I was young and learned a lot of things from that series.?



?I came back strongly. I became fit and went on to work on my physical and mental fitness for over 3-4 years so that I can last long in the international format for the country.?



The former Indian skipper was recently admitted to the hospital for two rounds of angioplasty after complaints of chest pain.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly confirms India tour of Sri Lanka, three ODIs and five T20Is.



The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday confirmed that the Indian outfit will visit Sri Lanka this season for the three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and five Twenty-20 Internationals (T20Is). However, there is no clarity on the exact window for the limited-overs tour.



The International Cricket Council (ICC) had earlier planned the upcoming visits for all the cricket playing countries under ICC?s Future Tours Programme (FTPs) according to which India will play three T20Is against Sri Lanka in June. India was also scheduled to play three ODIs and as many T20Is the last June against Sri Lanka, but the visit was cancelled due to the pandemic.



It will be stressful work for the BCCI to field a squad in Sri Lanka amid the restrictions and covid protocols. Earlier on Friday, A 20-men strong outfit was named by the BCCI for the final of ICC World Test Championship against New Zealand, starting June 18. India will most likely play intra-squad matches post the final against New Zealand after that leading up to a five games Test series against England, starting August 4.



Sourav Ganguly clearly denied all the speculations regarding the remainder of the IPL season 14 to be held in England on either side of India?s test series in the United Kingdom.



In an interview by Sportstar Ganguly said, ?No (to all the rumours claiming the remainder of the IPL 2021 to be held in England). India is supposed to go to Sri Lanka for three ODIs and five T20Is. There are lots of organisational hazards like 14-day quarantine.?



?IPL can?t be organised in India either. This quarantine is tough to handle. It?s too early to say how we can find a slot to complete the IPL."



England (Warwickshire, Surrey and the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC)) along with Sri Lanka and UAE have reportedly showed their interests in hosting the remainder of the Vivo IPL 2021.



After the wrap of the England-India Test series on 14th September, India has a small window before the ICC T20 World Cup. The ICC event will begin somewhere in mid-October. Looking at the current situation of India, fighting hard with the second wave of the global pandemic, it is almost certain that the ICC T20 World Cup will have to be shifted elsewhere.

The BCCI earlier permitted the families of cricketers to accompany them for a long three months tour to England. The step is taken to keep players in a good frame of mind as they will be in bio-bubble for three months.



All the players will board a flight to the UK on June 2 after completing their two weeks mandatory quarantine in Mumbai.



?Yes, it?s good news that players will have their families during the tour of the UK. Ditto for the women?s team who can also have their families around. These are times when the mental well-being of players is paramount.



?The BCCI understands that we need our players and support staff to be in a good head space,? the source told PTI.

Ganguly said that the event is being shifted to the UAE due to the player?s safety and the decision is taken after keeping players and management in the centre.



?We have officially intimated the ICC that the T20 World Cup can be shifted to the United Arab Emirates. The details are being chalked out,? Ganguly said.

The 2021's T20 World Cup was originally slated to be held in India during October-November, however, the dreaded situation in the country has forced the officials to take necessary steps to prevent players and management of 16 nations participating in the World Cup from the virus.



The global body of cricket has already started the preparations for the World Cup.



As per the reports, the qualifying rounds of the tournament could be held in Muscat, Oman?s capital, which will help UAE pitches to get some time to recover after the IPL 2021, which is scheduled from September 17 to October 15.

"It will be in Hindi but it is not possible to say the name of the director now. It will take a few more days for arranging everything," Ganguly told News18.



The reports say that the script is being written and there have been several meetings between the production house and Sourav Ganguly in recent times.



Ganguly himself revealed that Ranbir Kapoor is the hot favourite to play his part, however, there are two other actors on the list.



The name of the biopic and its release date is yet not revealed by the cricketer and production house.



Ganguly?s biopic will be the sixth biopic which will be made centring the Indian cricketers.



Earlier to this, the biopic on MS Dhoni (MS Dhoni: The Untold Story), Sachin Tendulkar (Sachin: A Billion Dreams), Mohammad Azharuddin (Azhar) have been released.



Two biopics centring Kapil Dev (83) and Mithali Raj (Shabash Mithu) are midway through their productions and will be released soon.

IND vs ENG: Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has announced his playing XI for the first T20I against England. The match between the two teams is all set to take place on Wednesday (22nd January) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
India and England will be locking horns with each other in the five-match T20I series. Both teams have a mixed combination of seniors and youngsters in the team, and with the way they have played of late, it's fair to say that it will be an exciting series to watch. 
Coming to the first T20I, Ravichandran Ashwin backed Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma to open the innings for the team. The duo has been doing a decent job together as an opener and would be hoping to carry on the same form in the upcoming first match. 
Sanju Samson was at his exceptional best in the T20Is last year as he slammed three tons. While on the other hand, Abhishek Sharma hasn't been able to maintain consistency. Hence the series will be extremely important for him with the bat. 
At No.3, Ravichandran Ashwin picked Tilak Varma. The left-hander oozed his class with the bat in the last series against South Africa. He batted at No.3 and slammed two back-to-back centuries. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav, as per Ashwin, will bat at No.4.
Hardik Pandya, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Axar Patel are the three all-rounders picked by Ravichandran Ashwin in his Indian XI for the first IND vs ENG T20I. They are expected to play a major role with the bat and ball. 
Rinku Singh also has been picked by Ravichandran Ashwin in his Indian XI for the first IND vs ENG team. He will be taking the role of finisher while there was no place for Ravi Bishnoi, who hard has put a foot wrong in his T20I career. Varun Chakravarthy will be there as per Ashwin.

Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali talked about the delay in the squad of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 for the Pakistan team. He said that it might look like they are scared of announcing the team, but it seems that they don't know what to do. 
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is around the corner and all the teams have named their squad for the tournament except the hosts Pakistan. The Men in Green are yet to announce the team even though the deadline of 12th January has already been surpassed by a long margin. 
India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan have all revealed their squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This has made many speculate about why Pakistan isn't announcing their squad for the tournament, which is less than one month away. 
There have been several reports that Pakistan will be announcing their squad for the tournament soon. They are awaiting the fitness of a few players, and hence, they will soon be naming the team. Some reports also have revealed the players who will be playing, but an official announcement is yet to come.

"Pakistan kya darr gaya jo abhi tak team announce nahi ki? Nahi dara nahi hai. Samajh nahi aa rahi hai -- karein to kya karein? (Is Pakistan scared to announce their squad? No, it isn't, just unsure what to do and what not). The biggest issue is whether Saim Ayub can return fit or not. It's still not clear." 
It remains to be seen when will Pakistan announce the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament is all set to take place from 19th February, with the final all set to be played on 9th March.

Pakistan squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is yet to be announced {PC:X}

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has issued a warning to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over the jersey controversy ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This comes after the Indian governing body refused to write 'Pakistan' on their kits for the tournament. 
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is all set to be hosted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is scheduled to begin on 19th February. The preparations for the tournament are on, and the ICC and the PCB are taking every step possible to make sure that everything is right on track. 
However, a controversy recently erupted after BCCI refused to write Pakistan on their jersey for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Notably, every participating nation, as per the ICC policy, has to write the name of the host nation below the logo of the tournament on their jersey. 
After BCCI refused to sport it, Pakistan Cricket Board officials made a strong statement, saying that BCCI is trying to use politics in every matter. He, however, mentioned that they are hopeful that ICC will support them and India will be asked to write the name of the jersey on their kits for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Following this, BCCI also reacted, and the insider from the governing body said that since they are playing in Dubai, it isn't mandatory for them to wear the 'Pakistan written jersey'. The BCCI also stressed that they didn't write Pakistan's name on the podium of the Trophy tours as well. 
Amid all this, ICC has come up with a strong response for the BCCI. An ICC official mentioned that it is the responsibility of the host nation to add the tournament logo to their jersey. He stated: 
"It is the responsibility of every team to add the tournament logo to their jerseys. All teams are obligated to comply with this rule," an ICC official said as per A-Sports, as quoted by NDTV. 
Not only this, it is learned that the ICC also warned BCCI that they would be taking strict action if they didn't wear the Pakistan-written jersey during the tournament.
