<h2>Suggestive Changes to the ICC for Dealing with Rain:&nbsp;</h2>



<p>The addition of a bonus point system can help the teams a lot. Just a pedestal or limit or rules for the bonus point need to be decided. So, for example, if India?s game against Pakistan gets washed out and they have to share points, India can play ?slam-bang? cricket in the game against the Netherlands and try to win the bonus point. This will also make the games more interesting. So, pedestals can be set as, ?For a win of more than 50 runs a bonus point will be awarded? or ?For a win with 36 balls to spare a bonus point will be awarded? and so on. ?</p>



<p>A reserve week before the playoffs can also help. A reserve week just before the playoffs can be used to cover the matches which ended as a ?No Result? or which were ?Abandoned without a ball being bowled.? The ICC needs to incorporate some methods to make this a fair game. With the DLS method, it seems that our gentlemen?s game relies more on stats than the skill itself. ?</p>

<p><strong>T20 World Cup 2024:</strong> The 2024 ICC T20 World Cup is all set to take place this year, in June 2024, in the Caribbean Islands and the United States of America. A total of 20 teams will participate in this year's mega event, and 5 teams per group have been divided into 4 groups. The top two teams from their respective groups will qualify for the Super 8 stage.</p>



<p>2021 T20 World Cup winners Australia is part of Group B, which consists of arch-rivals and defending champions England, Oman, Scotland, and Namibia. The Aussies will play a total of four matches in the group stage as they begin their 2024 T20 World Cup campaign against Oman on June 5 in Barbados.</p>



<p>They will face arch-rivals and defending champions England on the 8th of June in Barbados as well, and their third group stage match against Namibia will take place on the 11th of June at the iconic Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. The Men in Yellow will end their group stage with a match against Scotland on June 15 at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St. Lucia.</p>

<p>The 2021 T20 World Cup winners managed to qualify directly for this year's T20 World Cup, along with reigning champion England, runner-up Pakistan, India, South Africa, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and the Netherlands. Australia are regarded as the most successful team in terms of World Cups, as they have managed to lift the ODI World Cup six times and the T20 World Cup in 2021 by defeating New Zealand in the final.</p>



<p>The Men in Yellow had a tremendous 2023, as they managed to win the 2023 World Test Championship and the 2023 ODI World Cup. The Aussies would be looking to continue their good form by winning this year's T20 World Cup.</p>

<p><strong>New Zealand Squad: </strong>The New Zealand Cricket Board (NZC) has announced its 15-men-strong provisional squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA. The Kiwis have named Ben Sears as their 16th travelling reserve for the tournament.</p>



<p>Kane Williamson is back in the T20I side after he missed a couple of series due to the birth of his third child and ongoing IPL duties. The veteran batter would be leading the pack in the Caribbean and the USA.</p>



<p>The Black Caps have also rewarded Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra for their brilliant consistency over the past few months. Both the batters have been included in the side to take part in the coveted tournament, which begins on June 1.</p>



<p>"Rachin has made every post a winner in the past 12 months and it was exciting to see him continue that trajectory over the summer in the T20 format against Australia," said Gary Stead, New Zealand coach.</p>



<p>Veteran pacers Trent Boult and Tim Southee have also been named in the T20I squad alongside Matt Henry, who hasn't had the previous experience of playing in the T20 World Cup previously.</p>



<p>"Matt [Henry] has worked exceptionally hard on his skills across the phases of a T20 game to come back into selection consideration," he said.</p>



<p>The likes of Adam Milne and Kyle Jamieson have, unfortunately, missed out due to their respective injury concerns. While Adam Milne continues his rehab after ankle surgery, Jamieson has been away from the sport for a long time due to a stress fracture in his lower back.</p>



<p>To cover the spin duties, the likes of Ish Sodhi and Michell Santner have been named in the squad. The two will be the spin protagonists while Glenn Phillips and Rachin Ravindra can chip in to bowl a couple of quick overs in the middle.</p>



<p>Reflecting on the squad New Zealand have picked for the upcoming T20 World Cup, coach Gary Stead added, "We expect the venues in the West Indies to offer quite varied conditions and feel we've selected a squad with the scope to adapt to those conditions."</p>
