Football?s biggie Manchester United among interested parties to own IPL franchise.



IPL 2022: It?s been quite a while since BCCI proposed to induct two new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises from the upcoming season of the cash-rich event and the developments are being done on that front as well. Recently, BCCI floated the Invitation To Tender (ITT) document, for which the final deadline has also been extended at the request of various interested entities.



In the recent track of development, Manchester United owners have reportedly shown interest in operating the biggest cricket league franchise and have picked up the Invitation To Tender document rolled out by the BCCI. Manchester United is owned by the Glazer family and the club is one of the biggest clubs in the arena of football in England.&nbsp;



It is noteworthy that only those companies can make a successful bid for owing a new IPL franchise that has a turnover of INR 3000 crore or a net worth of INR 2500 crore. The BCCI has opened doors wide for foreign investors as well, who wants to participate in the auction of the franchises. However, if any foreign business wins the bid, they will have to set up a separate company in India.

The expansion of the Indian Premier League to 10 team affairs will open multiple doors for several parties including the private entities, cricketers, coaching staff and several others involved in the operation of a team.



<h2>The Tata's, Adani's amongst interested Businesses to own a IPL Franchise:</h2>



As per the available reports from several prominent news outlets Aurobindo Pharma, Adani Group, Hindustan Times Media, Torrent Pharma, RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, Jindal Steel, and entrepreneur Ronnie Screwvala have picked up the Invitation To Tender (ITT) document.



All aforementioned names will be called anytime soon for the auction for the two new IPL franchises. The auction is likely to be held in early November.



Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Kanpur, Pune and Dharamsala are the top cities to be granted an IPL franchise, amongst which Ahmedabad is the front runner due to its gigantic Narendra Modi Stadium.

BCCI expecting 7000 Crores to 10,000 Crores for two new IPL teams each.



IPL 2022: The market of Indian cricket has become hot with the approaching bidding day for the two new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises. If the reports are to be believed, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expecting anything around INR 7000 Crores to INR 10,000 Crores for each new team joining in the gala Indian tournament from the next edition in 2022.



The bidding process for the two new IPL teams will begin on 25h October, the day after the India-Pakistan clash in the T20 World Cup 2021, in Dubai.



It has been learnt that as many as 22 companies/businesses have picked up the Invitation To Tender (ITT) document floated out by the BCCI, which is worth INR 10 Lakhs. The base price for each franchise is kept at INR 2000 Crores by the BCCI.



As far as a qualification to bid for a new franchise is concerned, the BCCI has allowed consortium bids up to three businesses/individuals/companies with each participant having an annual turnover of INR 2500 Crores while in case of individual bids the company or business must have a minimum annual turnover of INR 3000 Crores.

Gautam Adani and Sanjeev Goenka's RPSG group are the two frontrunners to make successful bids. The Adani Group is expected to bid for the Ahmedabad franchise.



"Gautam Adani and Sanjiv Goenka are the biggest names in the Indian industry. They will be serious bidders. Expect a minimum bid of Rs 3,500 crore from the potential bidders. Don't forget that IPL broadcast rights is projected around $5 billion (Rs 36,000 Crore). So the economics will work accordingly as franchises get the TV revenue share equally,? said PTI official.



Besides the Adani and RPSG?s Kotak group, Aurobindo Pharma, Torrent group, Lancer Capital (Avram Glazer owner of Man United) and Naveen Jindal are a few other interested entities to operate a new IPL franchise.

Confirmed! Ahmedabad and Lucknow to officially get a new IPL Franchise in IPL 2022.



Just In: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Indian Premier League (IPL) has announced the two new franchises after going through the process of bidding and verification. The top office-bearers of the BCCI and the IPL were in Dubai to complete the selection of the two new incoming franchises from the next season of the IPL.



After hours of verification check and other processes, the BCCI confirmed the introduction of Ahmedabad and Lucknow as the two new IPL franchises. 



Sanjeev Goenka-backed RPSG has successfully acquired the Lucknow based IPL franchise while CVC Capitals have won the bid for Ahmedabad. The RP - Sanjiv Goenka Group placed the highest bid of a whopping INR 7,090 Crores while CVC Capitals placed the second-highest bid of INR 5,600 Crores.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will earn a handsome sum of INR 12,690 Crores (approx. 1.7 Billion dollars) with the sale of two new franchises.



Ten interested parties were present for the IPL team auction in Dubai's Taj Hotel on Monday. Manchester United Owners were also involved in the bidding process and placed their bids to own and operate a new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise.



The bidding was conducted to own two of the six named Indian cities which include - Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Cuttack, Dharamsala, Guwahati and Indore. 



Avram Glazer, Adani Group, RPSG, Jindal Steel, Aurobindo Pharma, Rhiti Sports and Hindustan Times Media were among the interested businesses to operate an IPL team.



Apparently, the prominent Pharmaceutical company, Torrent Pharma, was not present to place their bid in Dubai for which much was talked about and written.



The reports further revealed that Rhiti Sports, the company/business promoted by MS Dhoni's manager, submitted a bid to own an IPL franchise from Cuttack, however, the bid was later disqualified from the auction. It is further learnt that due to their late arrival at the venue, the bid was disqualified by the officials.



Each interested party submitted two envelopes to the officials, one contained the financial and personal credentials of the bidder while the other envelope contain the bid.

Every cricket fan is eagerly awaiting the much anticipated Mega Auction of IPL 2022 which is set to take place on 12th and 13th of February in Bangalore. This year?s auction will be like never before as the ten franchises will be building their teams almost from scratch.&nbsp;



The addition of two new teams in IPL 2022 called for a mega auction and it brought forward many changes in rules. BCCI announced that each of the 8 core teams will be provided with a maximum of 4 retention from their last year?s squad. The two new teams shall then draft three players each into their squads from the left over players and the remaining players shall head on to the Auctions.&nbsp;



The Retention and drafting process has already been completed and although a majority of the team building will be done in the Mega Auction, some of the teams already look pretty strong even before the auction, courtesy of their smart Retentions/Draft picks.&nbsp;



In this article we take a look at four such IPL franchises who have a very strong team even before the Mega Auction.&nbsp;



<h2>1. Chennai Super Kings&nbsp;</h2>

There was no doubt that the defending champions had to be in the list. CSK, having lifted the IPL trophy in the 2021 season, had undoubtedly the best squad in the tournament and thus they retained their four best players, who are arguably also the four very best players in the entire league in their respective departments.&nbsp;



CSK?s retentions - Ravindra Jadeja (16 crore), MS Dhoni (12 crore), <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moeen_Ali">Moeen Ali</a> (8 crore), Ruturaj Gaikwad (6 crore)



We can see that CSK have one player from every department and their batting lineup already looks pretty strong with the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali and MS Dhoni.&nbsp;



<h2>2. Delhi Capitals&nbsp;</h2>

Delhi Capitals have probably had one of the smartest retention among all the eight teams. Delhi had a very strong squad in the 2021 IPL which they had built bit by bit over a long period. Giving away so many good players at a go would have been very hard for them but they made the best out of it and made sure to retain their best performers.&nbsp;



DC?s retentions - Rishabh Pant (16 crore), Axar Patel (9 crore, 12 crore to be deducted from purse), Prithvi Shaw (7.5 crore, 8 crore deducted from purse), Anrich Nortje (6.5 crore)



Let us discuss these players one by one briefly. Rishabh Pant, as we know, is one of India?s best shortest innings batters as of date and he is also DC?s captain. Axar Patel and Prithvi Shaw were in great forms last season and Anrich Nortje has consistently been one of the best pacers in the Indian Premier League over the past few seasons. These four players make DC look very strong already.&nbsp;



<h2>3. Mumbai Indians&nbsp;</h2>

The 5 times IPL champions might have underperformed in IPL 2021 but they know how to get back up from failures and they shall look to do exactly that in the upcoming season. They will surely look to sign some star players in the Mega Auction but the four players that they have retained are terrific as well.&nbsp;

It need not be mentioned that the above given players are already tested in IPL and are among the top players in the league. Mumbai will look to build a strong team around these 4 core players.&nbsp;



<h2>4. Ahmedabad franchise </h2>

Ahmedabad are the newest addition to the Indian Premier League but the other teams better not take them lightly for this reason. The CVC capitals owned franchise has made some unbelievable draft picks ahead of the Mega Auction which already makes them one of the favorites this season.&nbsp;



Ahmedabad?s Draft Picks - Hardik Pandya (15 crore), Rashid Khan (15 crore), Shubman Gill (8 crore)



They have chosen Hardik Pandya as the captain of the team and have also included Rashid Khan, who is arguably the greatest T20 spinner of our generation and Shubman Gill who is the most promising youngster of India.&nbsp;
