<p><strong>India beats England in ICC U19 World Cup Final to clinch its fifth title:</strong> India U19 has thrashed England U19 in the Bull Ring of the U19 World Cup Final to clinch its record-extending fifth U19 World Cup. Despite being derailed due to the Covid outbreak, the Indian contingent outplayed every single opposition in the U19 World Cup and remained unbeaten in the tournament.</p>



<p>Yash Dhull-led team India clinched the U19 World Cup 2022 title by four wickets on Saturday to etch their names in the history books.</p>

<p>To defy the odds, team India had the challenge to go beyond the trend and make the outing a memorable one. In the four matches played at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua, before the marquee final, teams opting to bat first had comprehensively registered a victory.</p>



<p>Despite such a harsh record, team India registered a win after chasing the total against England in Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua.</p>

<p>English skipper Tom Prest won the toss and invited India to have a ball first. Despite the early setback of failing to win the toss, India didn?t lose its hopes.</p>



<p>To begin the destruction of England?s batting unit, Ravi Kumar started off pretty well. The left-arm pacer provided an early breakthrough in his first over of the match.&nbsp;</p>



<p>In his second over, Kumar scalped the wicket of England skipper Tom Prest for a duck. With two early wickets, England was on complete backfoot. England were two down in 18 runs.</p>



<p>Soon, pacer Raj Bawa was given his spell of overs and he didn?t disappoint either. The speedster sent back George Thomas, Will Luxton, and George Bell in quick succession. England?s hopes were comprehensively shattered after their top five departed at a poor score of 47-5.</p>



<p>James Rew was devastated at the non-striker's end to see his teammates departing for dismal scores, but he played gritty innings which came to rescue the English side in the final. Rew scored 95 runs before getting dismissed by sensational Ravi Kumar.</p>



<p>Team India?s beautiful pace performance put India in a commanding position against the Englishmen. Yash Dhull and Co bowled out England for a score of 189 in the all-important final of the ICC U19 World Cup 2022.</p>

<p>Raj Bawa was the pick of the bowlers as he completed his fifer while Ravi Kumar scalped four wickets and Kaushal Tambe got one into his bag.</p>



<p>In pursuit of 189 runs, India didn?t have a perfect start either. Joshua Boyden picked up Angkrish Raghuvanshi in the second delivery of India's innings.</p>



<p>Shaik Rasheed and Harnoor Singh took control of the situation following Raghuvanshi?s wicket and took India close to the team half-century before the dismissal of Harnoor Singh.</p>



<p>Rasheed completed his fifty while Yash Dhull contributed with 32 balls 17 runs before returning back to the dugout.</p>



<p>To complement, Shaik Rasheed?s innings, Nishant Sindhu scored a quickfire half-century and remained unbeaten until the end of the innings.</p>



<p>Raj Bawa wrapped his final outing on a high as he contributed with well crafted 35 runs to take India closer to the title.</p>

<p>To finish the job, Dinesh Bana, the wicketkeeper-batsman, tonked a sensational six and concluded the entire hussle of winning the U19 World Cup 2022 title.</p>



<p>Team India defeated England by four wickets to get their hands on India?s fifth U19 World Cup trophy. Raj Bawa was adjudged as the Plyer of the Match for his all round performance with both bat and ball. While South Africa's Dewald Brevis was awarded the Player of the Series award.</p>

<p><strong>ICC Women's U19 T20 World Cup 2023: </strong>The International Cricket Council (ICC) has launched the first Women's U19 T20 World Cup, which has been in action from January 14 to January 29. The Women's U19 T20 World Cup 2023 is currently in operation, with Australia vs Bangladesh playing in the opening game on January 14 at Willowmoore Park in Benoni.&nbsp; A total of 16 teams are participating in the Women?s U19 T20 World Cup 2023.</p>

<p>The event was initially slated to take place in January 2021 but was postponed to December 2021. However, the pandemic forced a further delay. So the Women's U19 World Cup's inaugural edition is organized now in 2023. South Africa got the opportunity to host the debut season of the tournament.</p>

<p>There will be 16 teams competing against one another, featuring 11 regular ICC members and 5 associate nations. Four groups have been formed for them. Because the group league will be played in a single round-robin format, each team will play three games during this stage. Following that, the top three teams from each group will move on to the Super Six Round.</p>



<p>The 12 teams who are qualified will be divided into two groups of 6 teams each. The top two teams in each group will then advance to the knockout phase. The winners will square off in the tournament final of the Women's U19 T20 World Cup at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom on January 29 after the semi-finals on January 27.</p>

<p><strong>ICC U19 World Cup 2024 Points Table:</strong> It has been 10 days of U19 ODI Cricket action in the ICC event and after 24 matches, we finally have our top 12 teams for the Super 6 stage of the ICC U19 World Cup 2024. <p>This 16-team ICC marque under-19 tournament has just concluded the group stage where India U19 hammered USA U19 by 201-run defeat and Australia U19 also defeated Sri Lanka U19 in the final two matches. These 16 teams were divided into four groups- Group A, Group B, Group C, and Group D- consisting of four teams each. Now, the bottom-most team from each group will be eliminated after the Group Stage round and the remaining 12 teams will qualify for the Super 6 stage. </p>



<p>In the Super 6 stage, the top three teams of Group A and the top three teams of Group D will merge while Group B and Group C will merge to play the Super 6 stage.</p>

<p>India, Bangladesh, and Ireland have Qualified for the next stage from Group A. India U19 have played 3 matches and won all three with domination under the captaincy of Uday Saharan. </p>



<p>South Africa, England, and West Indies have qualified from Group B and Scotland is the team eliminated. Each team from Group B have lost a match in the Group Stage.</p>



<p>Australia are displaying their utter domination in Group C. Australia, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe have qualified from Group C and Namibia is the team eliminated.</p>

<p>Pakistan after hammering New Zealand with a 10-wicket victory lead the board in Group D. Winning all of their three group stage matches, they along with New Zealand and Nepal have qualified for the Super 6. Afghanistan lost all three matches in the group stage and are now out of the tournament. </p>

<p><strong>(29 Jan) ICC U19 World Cup 2024 Players with Most Runs and Most Wickets:</strong> The Group Stage of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2024 is over and now 12 Qualified teams are heading to the Super-6 stage. Indian and Pakistani Players are bossing the ICC U19 World Cup 2024 in terms of runs scored and wickets taken. Here we are with the list of players with the most runs and most wickets in the ICC U19 World Cup 2024.</p>

<p>The Defending Champions India are on a roll yet another time. New young faces, reciting new stories to add another cup to the cabin. India U19 have played three matches in the group stage and won all three. They first met Bangladesh U19, where they batted first and scored 251 runs and later successfully defended the total with 84 runs left.</p>



<p>Next, they played Ireland U19 and USA U19 and soundly won both matches with exactly 201 runs. India U19 ended the group stage with being on the top of Group A and now they are in Group 1 of the Super-6 stage along with Pakistan U19, New Zealand U19, Bangladesh U19, Nepal U19, and Ireland U19.</p>

<p>Pakistan U19 have also impressed. They were placed in Group D and played three matches in the Group stage. Winning all three with impressive batting and bowling skills, they ended up being at the top of Group D. Now they are in Group 1 for the Super-6 round.</p>



<p>Australia U19 registered the highest margin victory of this season when they defeated Zimbabwe by 225 runs in a group stage match. They have also won all three matches with completed command. They were placed in Group C in the group stage and now they have a spot in Group 2 for the Super-6.</p>



<p>Group B was the only group where all four teams lost at least one game in the group stage. South Africa ended up being at the top of Group B after the Group stage and they now feature in Group 2 for the Super-6 stage. </p>

<p>The batting Tally is led by Pakistani Left-handed opener Shahzaib KHAN. He has been exceptional right from the start of the tournament. He scored an amazing hundred in the opening match of Pakistan against Afghanistan. He then scored a slow 37 against Nepal but his blistering 80 off 86 against New Zealand led him to the top of the ICC U19 World Cup 2024 most runs tally.</p>



<p>West Indies' Jewel Andrew is next on the list. Musheer Khan is the third most run scorer in the tournament and the highest from the Indian contingent. He has scored 194 runs in the tournament till now after the group stage. Indian Skipper Uday Saharan is also on the list of TOP 10 most run scorers. Uday has scored 174 runs for India at an average of 58 and placed 6th on the list.</p>

<p>Pakistani Players are ruling both sections. Ubaid Shah from Pakistan is the most wicket-taker bowler after 3 matches. He picked up 9 wickets in the group stage against New Zealand U19, Nepal U19, and Afghanistan U19. He is followed by India spinner Saumy Pandey with 8 wickets. </p>



<p>Naman Tiwari, the left-hand pacer from India is also there in the list at number 4 with 8 wickets. Khalil Ahmed of Afghanistan U19 have also picked up 8 wickets and bowled with a strike rate of 18 which equals Naman Tiwari's numbers.</p>

<p><strong>ICC U19 World Cup 2024:</strong> As the Group stage of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2024 came to an end on January 28, the qualified 12 teams have advanced to the Super Six stage. <p>The four teams out of sixteen have been eliminated after the group stage. The Super Six will involve the top three sides from each of the four round-robin groups and hence we have a total of 12 teams.</p>

<p><strong>(31 Jan) ICC U19 World Cup 2024 Players with Most Runs and Most Wickets:</strong> Indian top-order batsman Musheer Khan is now the leading run-getter in the U19 World Cup 2024 after his stellar century in India U19 vs New Zealand U19. Saumy Pandey of India also shares equal wickets with Pakistan's Ubaid Shah at the top of the most wickets tally. <p>Like the senior Men's Team, the India U19 team is cruising on the top in this U19 World Cup. They have won all the matches played and interestingly they have won the last three matches by a margin of over 200 runs. India U19 defeated Bangladesh by 84 runs, then they caught Ireland 201 runs short and won against USA U19 by 201 runs.</p>



<p>On 30 January, India U19 and New Zealand U19 played the first Super Six game. New Zealand U19 invited India U19 to bat first and India took full advantage of the new ball and fresh pitch. Top-order batter Musheer Khan smashed an excellent ton with a strike rate of over 100. A fifty from the opener Adarsh Singh and small contributions from the middle order helped India U19 post a par score of 295 runs.</p>

<p>New Zealand U19 would have thought of an explosive start but Raj Limbani had different plans. He took two wickets in the very first over of the innings. Soon, Saumy Pandey joined the party and picked up two quick wickets in back-to-back overs. Musheer Khan also collected two wickets in just three overs. Saumy Pandey bagged 4 wickets in 10 overs giving just 19 runs stole the show and bundled out New Zealand U19 under 81 runs and India U19 won the match by 214 runs. </p>



<p>In the second match of the day, West Indies U19 defeated Sri Lanka U19 by 3 wickets in a thriller. Sri Lanka U19 scored 231 runs in the first innings and West Indies batters gave a solid start for a solid chase. There was a pressure condition in the middle overs but <a href="https://www.cricbuzz.com/profiles/54283/nathan-sealy">Nathan Sealy</a> comfortably led his team to victory.</p>

<p>The batting Tally is led by Indian batter Musheer Khan. Khan is now the most run scorer in the tournament following his exceptional 131 against New Zealand U19. He has scored 325 runs in the tournament till now after 4 matches. </p>



<p>Pakistani Left-handed opener Shahzaib KHAN holds the second position. He has been exceptional right from the start of the tournament. He scored an amazing hundred in the opening match of Pakistan against&nbsp;<a href="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/category/cricket-team/icc-teams/afghanistan/">Afghanistan</a>. He fell early against Ireland and now he is well 91 runs behind Musheer Khan.</p>



<p>Indian Skipper Uday Saharan is now in the TOP 3 of the most run scorers. Uday has scored 208 runs for India at an average of 79. Just a run behind him is West Indies' Wicketkeeper batter Jewel Andrew. Adarsh Singh, after a remarkable 50, entered the top 10 list of Players with the most runs.</p>

<p>Indian Players are ruling both sections. Indian Spinner Saumy Pandey has had some excellent games in the U19 World Cup. He took 4 wickets in 10 overs giving just 19 runs in the recent match against New Zealand U19 leading him to the top spot with 12 wickets.</p>



<p>One more bowler has scalped 12 wickets. Ubaid Shah from Pakistan is the second-most wicket-taker bowler after 4 matches. He picked up 12 wickets in total.</p>



<p>Naman Tiwari, the left-hand pacer from India is also there in the list at number 4 with 9 wickets. Vishwa Lahiru of Sri Lanka holds the third spot and has picked up 9 wickets and bowled with a strike rate of 21.33.</p>

Three matches were played on 31 January which saw Australia, South Africa, and Bangladesh winning in their first match of the Super Six stage. <p>Australia U19 vs England U19 was the first match of the day where England won the toss and opted to bowl first. Australia lost one of their openers in the very first over but then weaved a solid partnership of 105 runs. A Captain's knock by Australian skipper Hugh Weibgen (120) and some contribution from the middle order allowed Australia to post 266 runs on board.</p>

<p>The Australian bowling unit was even better on the ground. They never allowed England to settle down and you can see it when the best partnership from the English camp is of just 23 runs. Rain also interrupted the event and that made it even worse for England. They got a revised target of 215 runs in just 24 overs but Australia bundled out them under 104 and won the match by 110 runs.</p>



<p>The second match saw Nepal U19 taking on Bangladesh U19. Winning the toss, Nepal chose to bat first. They were 3 down in the first 10 over under 30 runs. Bangladesh kept the pressure on and took wickets at regular intervals. Hence, Nepal were bowled out for just 169 runs.</p>



<p>In the chase, handy knocks from Jishan Alam and Ariful Islam lead Bangladesh to an easy victory by 5 wickets.</p>



<p>Another Group 2 match of the day was South Africa U19 vs Zimbabwe U19. South African skipper Juan James won the toss and asked Zimbabwe to bat first. 25 balls, 16 runs on the board, and Zimbabwe were 4 wickets down. Still, they somehow managed to post 102 on the board.</p>

<p>But 103 was never going to be enough. South Africa went through the target under 14 overs and won the match by 9 wickets.</p>



<p>After the match between Bangladesh and Nepal, Bangladesh got 2 points and got their NRR from -0.668 to +0.348. No change in the position of the teams in the table. While South Africa U19 after the win against Zimbabwe got two valuable points is now the second-ranked team in Group 2. </p>

<p><strong>U19 World Cup, South Africa U19 vs Sri Lanka U19</strong>: Sri Lanka U19 and South Africa U19 are all set to face each other in a crucial six-stage match of the U19 ODI World Cup, scheduled to take place tomorrow at Senwes Park Stadium in Potchefstroom. <p>Prithvi Shaw did not find any takers as the Mumbai batter went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction. Prithvi, who had a base price of Rs 75 lakh in the auction, was released by Delhi Capitals but he did not attract any bids from the ten franchises.</p>
<p>Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal has said that Prithvi Shaw is misunderstood in many ways but needed a 'jolt' in the form of the IPL 2025 Auction snub. Shaw has been part of the Delhi franchise since returning as the U-19 World Cup winning captain in 2018 and was bought for 1.2 Crores. Ahead of the 2022 auction, the Mumbai batter was retained by DC for Rs. 7.5 Crore but the past few seasons hasn't been great for the 25-year-old.</p>
<p>Speaking to Sports Today, Jindal said that Shaw is a great kid but needed a jolt to get up from his slumber. The DC co-owner feels that Shaw needs to work hard, get back the love of the game and get disciplined. Jindal ended by saying he hopes the Mumbai batter can return back to his best form</p>
<p>Delhi has backed Prithvi Shaw a lot. DC had hoped that he is a powerplay player and would hit 6 boundaries in one over. And he did that too. He hit Shivam Mavi for 6 fours in an over. He had a lot of potential and DC backed him to the hilt. We always thought that if Shaw manages to score, we will win. And we gave him a lot of chances," Kaif told on Jio Cinema.</p>

<p>Prithvi got a lot of chances and teams have now finally moved on, and it is a matter of embarrassment that he did not get a bid for Rs 75 lakh. Maybe now, he finally goes back to basics. Someone like Sarfaraz Khan got into the national team by scoring lots and lots of runs," he concluded.</p>
<p>In the 79 matches he has played, Shaw has scored 1892 runs at an average of 23.95 and a strike-rate of 147.47. He also scored 14 fifties during this time.</p>
