<p><strong>ICC U19 World Cup 2024 moves out of Sri Lanka:</strong> In what can be called disastrous news for Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2024, which was scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka, has now been moved out of the country. The development came after the ICC's board meeting in Ahmedabad on Tuesday (21st November).</p>



<p>The decision to remove Sri Lanka as the host of the ICC U19 World Cup 2024 could be linked to the ICC's ruling to suspend the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) due to excessive government interference. It was learnt that SLC failed to maintain and regulate the cricket affairs autonomously and hence, ICC handed a suspension.</p>



<p>In the ICC's recent board meeting held in Ahmedabad on November 21, it was concluded that the upcoming ICC U19 World Cup 2024 in January will be moved out of Sri Lanka. The hosting rights were subsequently awarded to South Africa, which hosted the Women's U19 T20 World Cup.</p>



<p>"It was a unanimous decision by the board that the suspension cannot be lifted. Cricket in the country will continue as normal," a source said as reported by Cricbuzz.</p>



<p>However, it was maintained that Sri Lanka can still participate in the bilateral and ICC-related fixtures, despite the sanctions imposed by the apex cricket board. The SLC will receive controlled funding through the ICC until the suspension lifts.</p>



<p>"I have requested the ICC board to allow the game to continue and the members have upheld our request, " Sammi Silva said.</p>



<p>"After hearing representation from SLC, the ICC Board decided that Sri Lanka can continue to compete internationally both in bilateral cricket and ICC events after?being suspended recently for breaching its obligations as a Member?in particular the requirement to manage its affairs autonomously and without government interference. However, funding to SLC will be controlled by the ICC," said ICC in a statement release.</p>



<p>The ICC Men's U19 World Cup 2024 is set to be held between January 14 and February 15 in South Africa. Interestingly, the schedule for the newly launched SA20 league also runs between January 10 and February 10, so there could be a possible clash.</p>



<p>However, confirming the details, Cricket South Africa (CSA) official said that the country is capable of hosting both events simultaneously as the SA20 league is regulated by a separate organisation which is independent of the CSA.</p>

<p>Starting on Friday, January 19, 2024, South Africa will serve as the host nation for the month-long ICC Men's U19 World Cup 2024. There are four groups confirmed and each group will consist of 4 teams meaning as many as 16 countries will battle it out in 24 days with 41 matches played.</p>

<p>It's a 16-team event, and the top three teams from each group advance to the Super Six, the following round. Here, two groups of six teams each will be created, and the two groups' top two teams will advance to the semifinals. With five tournament victories to their account, India are the reigning champion.</p>



<p>The Indian Under-19 side, spearheaded by Uday Saharan, will kick off their campaign in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2024 on Saturday, January 20. Their first game will be against Bangladesh.</p>

<p>This 16-team ICC marque under-19 tournament has just concluded the group stage where India U19 hammered USA U19 by 201-run defeat and Australia U19 also defeated Sri Lanka U19 in the final two matches. Now, the bottom-most team from each group will be eliminated after the Group Stage round and the remaining 12 teams will qualify for the Super 6 stage. </p>

<p>India, Bangladesh, and Ireland have Qualified for the next stage from Group A. India U19 have played 3 matches and won all three with domination under the captaincy of Uday Saharan. </p>



<p>South Africa, England, and West Indies have qualified from Group B and Scotland is the team eliminated. Each team from Group B have lost a match in the Group Stage.</p>



<p>Australia are displaying their utter domination in Group C. Australia, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe have qualified from Group C and Namibia is the team eliminated.</p>

<p>Pakistan after hammering New Zealand with a 10-wicket victory lead the board in Group D. Winning all of their three group stage matches, they along with New Zealand and Nepal have qualified for the Super 6. <p><strong>(29 Jan) ICC U19 World Cup 2024 Players with Most Runs and Most Wickets:</strong> The Group Stage of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2024 is over and now 12 Qualified teams are heading to the Super-6 stage. Indian and Pakistani Players are bossing the ICC U19 World Cup 2024 in terms of runs scored and wickets taken. Here we are with the list of players with the most runs and most wickets in the ICC U19 World Cup 2024.</p>

<p>The Defending Champions India are on a roll yet another time. New young faces, reciting new stories to add another cup to the cabin. India U19 have played three matches in the group stage and won all three. They first met Bangladesh U19, where they batted first and scored 251 runs and later successfully defended the total with 84 runs left.</p>



<p>Next, they played Ireland U19 and USA U19 and soundly won both matches with exactly 201 runs. India U19 ended the group stage with being on the top of Group A and now they are in Group 1 of the Super-6 stage along with Pakistan U19, New Zealand U19, Bangladesh U19, Nepal U19, and Ireland U19.</p>

<p>Pakistan U19 have also impressed. They were placed in Group D and played three matches in the Group stage. Winning all three with impressive batting and bowling skills, they ended up being at the top of Group D. Now they are in Group 1 for the Super-6 round.</p>



<p>Australia U19 registered the highest margin victory of this season when they defeated Zimbabwe by 225 runs in a group stage match. They have also won all three matches with completed command. They were placed in Group C in the group stage and now they have a spot in Group 2 for the Super-6.</p>



<p>Group B was the only group where all four teams lost at least one game in the group stage. South Africa ended up being at the top of Group B after the Group stage and they now feature in Group 2 for the Super-6 stage. </p>

<p>The batting Tally is led by Pakistani Left-handed opener Shahzaib KHAN. He has been exceptional right from the start of the tournament. He scored an amazing hundred in the opening match of Pakistan against Afghanistan. He then scored a slow 37 against Nepal but his blistering 80 off 86 against New Zealand led him to the top of the ICC U19 World Cup 2024 most runs tally.</p>



<p>West Indies' Jewel Andrew is next on the list. Musheer Khan is the third most run scorer in the tournament and the highest from the Indian contingent. He has scored 194 runs in the tournament till now after the group stage. Indian Skipper Uday Saharan is also on the list of TOP 10 most run scorers. Uday has scored 174 runs for India at an average of 58 and placed 6th on the list.</p>

<p>Pakistani Players are ruling both sections. Ubaid Shah from Pakistan is the most wicket-taker bowler after 3 matches. He picked up 9 wickets in the group stage against New Zealand U19, Nepal U19, and Afghanistan U19. He is followed by India spinner Saumy Pandey with 8 wickets. </p>



<p>Naman Tiwari, the left-hand pacer from India is also there in the list at number 4 with 8 wickets. Khalil Ahmed of Afghanistan U19 have also picked up 8 wickets and bowled with a strike rate of 18 which equals Naman Tiwari's numbers.</p>

<p><strong>ICC U19 World Cup 2024:</strong> As the Group stage of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2024 came to an end on January 28, the qualified 12 teams have advanced to the Super Six stage. <p>The four teams out of sixteen have been eliminated after the group stage. The Super Six will involve the top three sides from each of the four round-robin groups and hence we have a total of 12 teams.</p>

<p><strong>(31 Jan) ICC U19 World Cup 2024 Players with Most Runs and Most Wickets:</strong> Indian top-order batsman Musheer Khan is now the leading run-getter in the U19 World Cup 2024 after his stellar century in India U19 vs New Zealand U19. Saumy Pandey of India also shares equal wickets with Pakistan's Ubaid Shah at the top of the most wickets tally. <p>Like the senior Men's Team, the India U19 team is cruising on the top in this U19 World Cup. They have won all the matches played and interestingly they have won the last three matches by a margin of over 200 runs. India U19 defeated Bangladesh by 84 runs, then they caught Ireland 201 runs short and won against USA U19 by 201 runs.</p>



<p>On 30 January, India U19 and New Zealand U19 played the first Super Six game. New Zealand U19 invited India U19 to bat first and India took full advantage of the new ball and fresh pitch. Top-order batter Musheer Khan smashed an excellent ton with a strike rate of over 100. A fifty from the opener Adarsh Singh and small contributions from the middle order helped India U19 post a par score of 295 runs.</p>

<p>New Zealand U19 would have thought of an explosive start but Raj Limbani had different plans. He took two wickets in the very first over of the innings. Soon, Saumy Pandey joined the party and picked up two quick wickets in back-to-back overs. Musheer Khan also collected two wickets in just three overs. Saumy Pandey bagged 4 wickets in 10 overs giving just 19 runs stole the show and bundled out New Zealand U19 under 81 runs and India U19 won the match by 214 runs. </p>



<p>In the second match of the day, West Indies U19 defeated Sri Lanka U19 by 3 wickets in a thriller. Sri Lanka U19 scored 231 runs in the first innings and West Indies batters gave a solid start for a solid chase. There was a pressure condition in the middle overs but <a href="https://www.cricbuzz.com/profiles/54283/nathan-sealy">Nathan Sealy</a> comfortably led his team to victory.</p>

<p>The batting Tally is led by Indian batter Musheer Khan. Khan is now the most run scorer in the tournament following his exceptional 131 against New Zealand U19. He has scored 325 runs in the tournament till now after 4 matches. </p>



<p>Pakistani Left-handed opener Shahzaib KHAN holds the second position. He has been exceptional right from the start of the tournament. He scored an amazing hundred in the opening match of Pakistan against&nbsp;<a href="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/category/cricket-team/icc-teams/afghanistan/">Afghanistan</a>. He fell early against Ireland and now he is well 91 runs behind Musheer Khan.</p>



<p>Indian Skipper Uday Saharan is now in the TOP 3 of the most run scorers. Uday has scored 208 runs for India at an average of 79. Just a run behind him is West Indies' Wicketkeeper batter Jewel Andrew. Adarsh Singh, after a remarkable 50, entered the top 10 list of Players with the most runs.</p>

<p>Indian Players are ruling both sections. Indian Spinner Saumy Pandey has had some excellent games in the U19 World Cup. He took 4 wickets in 10 overs giving just 19 runs in the recent match against New Zealand U19 leading him to the top spot with 12 wickets.</p>



<p>One more bowler has scalped 12 wickets. Ubaid Shah from Pakistan is the second-most wicket-taker bowler after 4 matches. He picked up 12 wickets in total.</p>



<p>Naman Tiwari, the left-hand pacer from India is also there in the list at number 4 with 9 wickets. Vishwa Lahiru of Sri Lanka holds the third spot and has picked up 9 wickets and bowled with a strike rate of 21.33.</p>

<p><strong>(31 Jan) ICC U19 World Cup 2024 Points Table Super 6:</strong> Three blockbuster face-offs on Day one of the Super Six round saw victories for India, Pakistan, and West Indies. Dominating India pounded heavily to New Zealand and continued to lead Group 1 and West Indies replaced Sri Lanka into 2nd Spot in Group 2. <p>The first match of the ICC U19 World Cup 2024 Super Six saw India U19 Boys taking on New Zealand U19. Winning the toss, New Zealand U19 opted to bowl first. The previous game's centurion Arshin Kulkarni fell shortly this time but his opening partner and number 3 batter Musheer Khan weaved 77 runs partnership and later a big hundred by Musheer Khan led India to post a good total of 295.</p>

<p>New Zealand, in the chase, lost two wickets in the first over for zero runs following two world-class inswinging deliveries by Raj Limbani. Then Saumy Pandey got into the role and joining him, Musheer didn't allow any New Zealand batter to cross 20 runs. India bundled out New Zealand at mere 81 runs and won the game by 214 runs.</p>



<p>The second match was of Group 2 where Sri Lanka faced off West Indies. Batting first, Sri Lanka dealt some early blows but stable Dinura Kalupahana stood up with a half-century and led his team to post 231 runs.</p>



<p>A better opening stand and healthy contributions from the middle order and lower middle order helped West Indies to reach the asked score with three wickets in hand.</p>



<p>Coming to the third match where Pakistan battled Ireland and opted to bowl first. A disciplined bowling from Pakistan allowed a very slow start to Irealand's innings that resulted in an early wicket fall. It looked like Ireland weren't ready to face the Pakistani bowling lineup. Fighting for 48 overs, Ireland could only post a below-par total of 181 runs following a half-century by John McNally.</p>

<p>Pakistan got a flying start but lost an early wicket too. Few shutters in the middle overs but Ahmad Hassan led his team to win the contest by 3 wickets.</p>



<p>With a win in the first match of Super 6, India have strengthened their number 1 spot. A win by over 200 runs margin has helped India to hike up their NRR and now India hold the top position in Group 1 with an NRR +3.327. Pakistan follow India with an NRR of +1.064.</p>



<p>Coming to Group 2, West Indies U19 defeated Sri Lanka U19 and took their second spot. West Indies sit in second position with 2 wins in 3 games and an NRR of +0.133. Sri Lanka slip to the third spot with an NRR of +0.226.</p>

<p><strong>(1 Feb) ICC U19 World Cup 2024 Points Table Super 6:</strong> We are halfway through the Super Six round of the ICC U19 World Cup 2024 after 6 matches have been played. Three matches were played on 31 January which saw Australia, South Africa, and Bangladesh winning in their first match of the Super Six stage. Here we are with the latest updated ICC U19 World Cup Points Table Super 6 on 01 February. </p>

<p>Australia U19 vs England U19 was the first match of the day where England won the toss and opted to bowl first. Australia lost one of their openers in the very first over but then weaved a solid partnership of 105 runs. A Captain's knock by Australian skipper Hugh Weibgen (120) and some contribution from the middle order allowed Australia to post 266 runs on board.</p>

<p>The Australian bowling unit was even better on the ground. They never allowed England to settle down and you can see it when the best partnership from the English camp is of just 23 runs. Rain also interrupted the event and that made it even worse for England. They got a revised target of 215 runs in just 24 overs but Australia bundled out them under 104 and won the match by 110 runs.</p>



<p>The second match saw Nepal U19 taking on Bangladesh U19. Winning the toss, Nepal chose to bat first. They were 3 down in the first 10 over under 30 runs. Bangladesh kept the pressure on and took wickets at regular intervals. Hence, Nepal were bowled out for just 169 runs.</p>



<p>In the chase, handy knocks from Jishan Alam and Ariful Islam lead Bangladesh to an easy victory by 5 wickets.</p>



<p>Another Group 2 match of the day was South Africa U19 vs Zimbabwe U19. South African skipper Juan James won the toss and asked Zimbabwe to bat first. 25 balls, 16 runs on the board, and Zimbabwe were 4 wickets down. Still, they somehow managed to post 102 on the board.</p>

<p>But 103 was never going to be enough. South Africa went through the target under 14 overs and won the match by 9 wickets.</p>



<p>After the match between Bangladesh and Nepal, Bangladesh got 2 points and got their NRR from -0.668 to +0.348. No change in the position of the teams in the table. While South Africa U19 after the win against Zimbabwe got two valuable points is now the second-ranked team in Group 2. </p>

<p><strong>(2 FEB) ICC U19 World Cup 2024: </strong>The Under-19 World Cup 2024 Super Six stage is currently under process and 32 matches have been played till now in the tournament. After 32 matches, Indian players are ruling the runs and wickets tally. <p>This is not the first time that the defending champions India are dominating. Fresh youthful faces, adding another cup to the cabin with their new stories. In the four games they have played in the competition, India U19 has won all four with a convincing lead.</p>



<p>When they batted first against Bangladesh U19 in the group stage, they scored 251 runs and successfully defended the total with 84 runs remaining. Then they had a couple of easy match-ups against Ireland U19 and USA U19 where they won by over a 200-run margin.</p>

<p>India U19 won the first match of the Super Six stage against New Zealand U19. Top-order batsman Musheer Khan posted a sounding century and later Saumy Pandey broke the back of the NZ batting order, helping India U19 to win the match by 214 runs.</p>

<p>The batting Tally is led by Indian batter Musheer Khan. Khan is now the most run scorer in the tournament following his exceptional 131 against New Zealand U19. He has scored 325 runs in the tournament till now after 4 matches.</p>



<p>Jamie Dunk smashed 76 runs in the playoff match against Namibia U19 and led his team to the win. His smart innings lead him to the second position of the most runs tally.</p>



<p>Pakistani Left-handed opener Shahzaib KHAN holds the third position. He has been exceptional right from the start of the tournament. He scored an amazing hundred in the opening match of Pakistan against&nbsp;<a href="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/category/cricket-team/icc-teams/afghanistan/">Afghanistan</a>. He fell early against Ireland and now he is well 91 runs behind Musheer Khan.</p>



<p>Australian skipper Hugh Weibgen is next on the list. He has 230 runs under his belt in the four matches played. Ariful Islam and Indian Skipper Uday Saharan are next to follow him.</p>
