Two UAE Cricketers suspended by ICC found guilty of fixing matches.



ICC: International Cricket Council (ICC) has suspended two UAE players when found guilty of illegal actions. Reportedly UAE?s Mohammad Naveed and Shaiman Anwar Butt on Tuesday suspended by the ICC after the cricketers were found to be involved in match-fixing during the ICC T20 World Cup qualifiers 2019.



Naveed and Shaiman were found responsible for the two offences under ICC Anti-Corruption Code. Both the cricketers exercised their right to hearing before tribunal prior to the suspension letter.



?The pair remain suspended and sanctions will follow in due course,? the ICC said in a statement following a hearing by an independent Anti-Corruption Tribunal.



?Former UAE skipper Naveed and Butt were involved in the part to affect the result of the games. An effort to fix, influence or contrive the result, progress and conduct of the match or matches at ICC Men?s T20I World Cup qualifiers 2019.?



"The duo is also found guilty of not informing ACU full details of the approach, invitation or message received to them to control the result of the game in corrupt conduct under the (anti-corruption code)? at the same tournament.



<h2>UAE cricketers suspended for breaching ICC anti-corruption laws</h2>



The former UAE skipper Naveed and pacer was also found guilty of the same offence during the T10 league in the same year.



Back in October 2019, three UAE cricketers including the two aforementioned and a participant from Ajman were charged with the 13 counts of the breaching the ICC anti-corruption rules. The players were suspended with the immediate effect.



ICC will take strict decisions for the Butt and Naveed who tried to violate the rules and regulations during the qualifiers of ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers 2019. These players apart from suspension will have other immediate effects on their cricketing career.



ICC has been strict about the anti-corruption rules in the past and will keep going even more strict in the future.

Vivo IPL 2021: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and IPL Franchises has recently been hit by another roadblock as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government along with the General Civil Aviation Authority of the country has decided to extend the ban on all the connecting flights from India until 23:59 hrs of July 21.



A few IPL franchises were earlier planning to travel to the UAE to checkout and start their off-field preparations for the IPL 2021.



As per the reports, franchise owners and stakeholders were planning to fly to the UAE to finalize the logistics part of the league.



The BCCI lately announced that the 31 remaining games of the Vivo IPL 2021 will be held in the three grounds of the UAE- Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

?Unlike last year, bulk bookings won?t be as easy this year as you will have people travelling into the country and that makes the work around bio-bubbles all the more critical,? a franchise official was quoted by ANI as saying.



To fly to the UAE now, the franchises will have to seek special permission from the BCCI as well as the government of the UAE.

The 2021's T20 World Cup was originally slated to be held in India during October-November, however, the dreaded situation in the country has forced the officials to take necessary steps to prevent players and management of 16 nations participating in the World Cup from the virus.



The global body of cricket has already started the preparations for the World Cup.



As per the reports, the qualifying rounds of the tournament could be held in Muscat, Oman?s capital, which will help UAE pitches to get some time to recover after the IPL 2021, which is scheduled from September 17 to October 15.

Asia Cup 2022 could move out to UAE from Sri Lanka amid political turmoil: The 2022 edition of the Asia Cup, which is slated to be held in Sri Lanka, could be moved out of its original venue due to the political fluidity in the island nation. As per the reports, there are strong chances that the six-nation tournament to shift to the UAE.



The sources in the know of development inform that the discussions to shift the tournament out of Sri Lanka have begun between the Asian Cricket Council and Emirates Cricket Board (ECB). The Sri Lankan cricket board (SLC) has been kept in the loop to undergo a smooth change.



It has been learnt that the schedule and dates for the Asia Cup 2022 will be kept the same even if the tournament is shifted out of Sri Lanka. As per the originally released schedule, the Asia Cup 2022 will begin from August 26 to September 11.



The situation worsened in Sri Lanka pretty quickly in the last one week. Nationwide protests have been carried out, the sitting President fled the country and a new leader is being installed.



The situation was different in the last few weeks when SLC agreed to host the multi-nation tournament. However, as the crisis getting escalated, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is in talks to move the tournament out of the island nation.



"In such a scenario, it is being felt that hosting the championship is not appropriate," a member of the ACC told Cricbuzz on Saturday (July 16).

"Our first preference is to support Sri Lanka and play the Asia Cup there. If this tournament does not take place in Sri Lanka, it will be a huge cricketing and financial loss for them. Australia's recent tour of Sri Lanka went off without any problems,? said PCB CEO.



"Similarly, there have been no issues with the on-going Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka as we are constantly in touch with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and our embassy in the country. Our discussions with the ACC representatives have suggested that the tournament is on track at the moment as they are monitoring the situation very carefully and we will support their decision," Faisal Hasnain, PCB CEO, said.



This year?s Asia Cup will be conducted in the T20 format in view of preparing for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

As per the reports, The Cricket Board of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh was not happy with this hybrid model as they have an issue regarding logistic and wants UAE to host the Asia cup 2023.

After lots of Decisions and meetings, PCB chairman Najam Sethi said they would keep the tournament's hosting rights. It will be held at a neutral venue as it was done last time when Sri Lanka was about to the Asia Cup. Still, due to political instability and Civil riots, ACC has decided to shift the Asia Cup to UAE.



PCB chairman said that the hybrid model we prepared is good and acceptable and it will be suitable for all countries but warned India that if their model gets rejected, then they will pull out of this tournament and also threat not to play the Cricket world cup 2023 in India which will happen in October just one-month after the Asia cup 2023.
