Pakistan?s U19 men?s team has successfully qualified for the 2024 U19 World Cup Semi-Finals. The Boys in Green defeated Bangladesh U19 in their second Super Six match and became the second team, along with India, from Group 1 to officially qualify for the 2024 U19 World Cup Semi-Finals.

The 36th match of the U19 ICC World Cup was played between Bangladesh and Pakistan, which was also the final match between both teams in the Super Six stage of the U19 World Cup. Pakistan and Bangladesh were placed in Super Six Group 1 alongside New Zealand, India, Nepal, and Ireland. New Zealand, Nepal, Ireland, and Bangladesh have been eliminated from this year?s World Cup, while archrivals India and Pakistan have progressed to the semi-finals. Defending Champions India U19 will take on South Africa U19 in Semi Final 1 of the ongoing 2024 U19 World Cup, while Pakistan will take on three-time winners Australia in Semi Final 2.



<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="pakistan-u-19-vs-bangladesh-u-19-match-summary">Pakistan U19 vs Bangladesh U19: Match Summary</h3>



Pakistan produced an electrifying bowling effort against Bangladesh to defend the target of 156 runs at Benoni's Willowmoore Park stadium. The Boys in Green were asked to bat first by Bangladeshi Captain Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby, and Pakistani openers Shamyl Hussain and Shahzaib Khan got the Boys in Green off to a really good start with an opening partnership of 37 runs. Shamyl managed to score 19 runs from 31 balls before Rohanat Doullah Borson dismissed him.



Azan Awais came in to bat at number three and scored a run?a ball?six runs before Borson got the better of him as well. Pakistani Captain Saad Baig walked out to bat at number four, but he fell cheaply as well; he scored just nine runs from 21 balls as a brilliant fielding effort by Ariful Islam ran him out.



In the 23rd over, Pakistan were restricted to 76-4 as opener Shahzaib (26 runs in 67 balls) nicked the ball behind into the gloves of Ashiqur Rahman Shibli as Sheikh Paevez Jibon sent him back to the pavilion.



Rohanat Doullah Borson picked up his third wicket of the match in the 26th over of the Pakistani innings as Ahmad Hassan (11 runs, 25 balls) was caught behind as Pakistan were struggling with a score of 87-5 in 26 overs.



The Boys in Green were reduced to 89-6 in the very next over as Sheikh Paevez Jibon dismissed Haroon Arshad for seven runs. But then came a seventh-wicket partnership between Arafat Minhas (34 runs in 40 balls) and Ali Asfand (19 runs in 29 balls), which yielded 43 runs.



Jibon secured his third wicket of the innings, ending the partnership by dismissing Ali Asfand (19, 29b, 2x4s) in the 36th over. Following that, Ubaid Shah and Mohammad Zeeshan were both dismissed inexpensively, and Arafat (34, 40b, 4x4s, 1x6), the top run scorer for his team, was the last batsman to fall. Pakistan U19 was bundled out for 155 in 40.4 overs. Jibon and Borson both achieved four-wicket hauls, while skipper Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby took one wicket.



Pakistan U19's Ubaid made an impact early by dismissing opening batter Jishan Alam (19, 12b, 4x4s) in the third over. In his subsequent over, Ubaid also removed Ashiqur Rahman Shibli (4, 11b) in the same fashion. Chowdhury Mohammad Rizwan contributed 20 runs from 30 balls with four boundaries until an edge off Ali Raza was caught by the Pakistan skipper behind the stumps in the 11th over. In the next over, Ubaid claimed his third wicket by catching Ahrar Amin in the slips.

Arafat's remarkable catch at backward point in the 20th over added to Ubaid's success, dismissing Jibon for just two runs. Despite a 40-run seventh-wicket stand between Mohammad Shihab James and skipper Rabby, Ubaid completed a five-wicket haul in his final over, sending James back for a fighting 26 off 43, including three boundaries.



Saad's diving catch dismissed Rabby for 13, securing Ali Raza's third wicket of the innings. Azan then ran out Iqbal Hossain Emon for a duck, reducing Bangladesh U19 to 127-9 in 31.4 overs. The last-wicket partnership of 23 runs, with Borson remaining unbeaten at 21 from 24, brought Bangladesh U19 close to victory. However, right-arm pacer Zeeshan had the final say, disturbing Maruf Mridha's stumps, leading to Pakistan claiming a five-run win.



Ubaid was awarded Player of the Match for his outstanding spell of five for 44 in his 10 overs. Ali Raza and Zeeshan also contributed to Pakistan's bowling success, finishing with three and one wicket, respectively.

The Indian batsman Musheer Khan leads the batting statistics. After four matches, Khan has scored 334 runs, making him the tournament's highest run scorer. With 308 runs, Indian skipper Uday Saharan moved up to second place on the leaderboard after smashing a massive century.



Jamie Dunk hit 76 runs in the playoff match against Namibia U19, leading his team to victory. In terms of total runs scored, he is ranked third. Shahzaib Khan, a left-handed opener from Pakistan, is ranked fourth. From the beginning of the event, he maintained a remarkable performance. He currently trails Musheer Khan by 91 runs.

ICC U19 World Cup 2024: Young Pakistani Star Bowler Ubaid Shah came up with a warning statement ahead of the Semifinal against Australia U19. Pakistan U19 are set to battle against Australia U19 in the second semifinal of the ICC U19 World Cup 2024 on February 8, 2024.



Ubaid Shah has been the hero of the Pakistan U19 team in this tournament. Like elder brother Naseem Shah, he took no time to go into the heads of the cricketing world. He has taken a fifer and a four-fer in this tournament till now and is the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament.

Among those wickets was a five-wicket haul in a match that was crucial for Pakistan, as they had to defend a subpar total of 155 to secure their semi-final qualification against U19 Asia Cup winner Bangladesh.



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Ubaid Shah's Interview</h4>



In an exclusive interview, Ubaid Shah said "We are happy to make it to the semi-final. The way I have performed and got support from the team and management (means a lot). The way we have come prepared and taken a start, we will hope to finish the same way."



?The batting of our Pakistan team has been good but when we talk about our bowling, it is very good. In the whole tournament, no team has been able to go past 200 against us which is one of the biggest positives."

"He performed well against New Zealand and Afghanistan and when I faced the two teams in the tournament, I too bowled well, even in the crucial match against Bangladesh. This has made me the most happy.?



"We reached the semi-final of the Asia Cup as well and lost closely. We will learn from our mistakes and improve on them. We won?t give a second chance now to another team," he concluded.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) recently unveiled the list of shortlisted players for the Player of the Tournament award of the 2024 Under-19 Cricket World Cup on Friday, February 9th. There are eight players on the shortlist, which is dominated by three members of the India Under-19 team: captain Uday Saharan, Saumy Pandey, and Musheer Khan, the younger brother of Sarfaraz Khan. The other players named are Aussie skipper Hugh Weibgen, Pakistani fast bowler Ubaid Shah, West Indian batsman Jewel Andrew, and South Africans Steve Solk and Kwena Maphaka.



Despite not being a part of the Under-19 World Cup Final, South African seamer Kwena Maphaka made a huge impact in this year?s U19 World Cup. The 17-year-old is currently the highest wicket taker in this tournament, with 21 scalps next to his name, which include three five wicket hauls. Kwena also managed to dismiss the likes of Adarsh Singh (0 runs), in-form batter Sachin Dhas (96 runs in 95 balls), and India U19 wicketkeeper Aravelly Avanish (10 runs in 18 balls) in the first semi-final match of the 2024 U19 World against the Indians, but unfortunately, Maphaka?s efforts went in vain as the Uday Saharan-led team emerged victorious by two wickets.

Boys in Blue skipper Uday Saharan played a brilliant knock of 81 runs against South Africa in the first semi-final of the 2024 Under-19 World Cup and was awarded the Man of the Match award as his knock helped the Indians eliminate South Africa from the tournament and allowed the Boys in Blue to advance to the final of the 2024 Under-19 World Cup. Uday has overtaken teammate Musheer Khan in the list of the highest run getters in this year?s tournament, with 389 runs next to his name in six innings, which include three fifties and one century, at a brilliant average of 64.83.

He has also managed to pick up six wickets at an outstanding economy of 3.32 and has caught the eye of everyone with his brilliant all-round abilities.

(12 Feb) ICC U19 World Cup 2024: A bit of D?j? vu moments for India and the World as Australia won the U19 World Cup Title defeating India. An acceptable batting show followed by an even better bowling performance by the young Australian marked the title to their names. Skipper Uday Saharan ended as the tournament's highest run scorer, and South African Kwena Maphaka came as the highest wicket-taker. It won't be wrong if we say the old days of the "Multi-format Domination of Australia" are back. Australian Women are the defending Champions of the ODI as well as the T20 World Cup in the Women's division. The Australian Men's team won the coveted WTC Title in 2023 defeating India, defeated India in the ODI World Cup 2023 Final, and now also won the U19 World Cup title defeating India. They will be eyeing the T20 World Cup scheduled to be played this year in the West Indies and the USA.

Once again, a left-handed top-order batsman with a natural attacking instinct proved to be a nightmare for Indian bowlers. Australia's leading scorer, Harjas Singh, finished with 55 runs. Dixon, Oliver Peake, and Captain Weibgen all made significant contributions to their team's 253/7 total.



On a pitch with plenty of pace, bounce, and lateral movement, it proved to be too much for the Indian hitters. In the powerplay, they were lackluster as Musheer Khan and Arshin Kulkarni failed early. After getting off to a strong start, Uday Saharan's square drive fully backfired. Any possibility of an Indian victory ended when Sachin Dhas, the star of the semi-final, was caught behind and out.



Adarsh Singh took his time on the powerplay, chewing up too many balls despite scoring a crucial 47. Sadly, the Indian batting, which has been their main strength for the whole of the competition, was unable to demonstrate its abilities in this crucial finale and was defeated handily in the title match.

He scored 397 runs in the tournament in 7 matches with an average of 56.71. He is followed by his countryman Musheer Khan. Khan was equally impressive throughout the tournament as he amassed 360 runs in 7 innings at an average of 60.



Australian opener Harry Dixon ended as the third-highest run-scorer of the tournament with 309 runs in 7 innings. Australian skipper Hugh Weibgen is ranked fourth with 304 runs in seven innings. Sachin Dhas, the backbone of India's middle order in the tournament ended fifth with 303 runs in total 7 innings with an average of over 60. The top five spots are occupied by Indian and Australian players which directly says why these two teams were in the final of the tournament.

With 21 wickets, South African bowler Kwena MAPHAKA remains the tournament?s most wicket-taker after taking three crucial wickets against India U19 in the semifinal. With one wicket in the final, Indian spinner Saumy Pandey is in second place with 18.



Pakistani pacer Ubaid Shah, younger brother of Naseem Shah, also shares an equal number of wickets with Saumy Pandey with a strike rate of 18. Tazeem Ali of England sits fourth with 14 wickets. Callum Vidler also had 14 wickets in the tournament. India's Naman Tiwari and Raj Limbani are also in the top 10 with 12 and 11 wickets respectively.

The wait for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is all set to be over. The tournament will begin on 19th February, and the final will take place on 9th March. The India team, no doubt, will be one of the hot favourites to win the tournament, which will be played in a hybrid model. 
India will be playing all their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 games in Dubai. The Rohit Sharma-led side will be beginning their campaign against Bangladesh on 20th February, and, after that, will be playing Pakistan on 23rd February, followed by New Zealand on 2nd March. 
The departure date of India for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 also has been revealed. As per the reports in Times of India, it is learned that the Rohit Sharma-led side will be travelling to Dubai on 15th February. The reports added that more clarity on the same will come in the coming days.

Not only this, it is learned that India also won't be playing any warmup matches ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This is because all the teams will be in Pakistan, and hence, it will be difficult for the International Cricket Council (ICC) to arrange the warmup match. 
The reports added that India team management is happy with the net session ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This is because they will be playing the three-match ODI series against England, which will begin on 6th February across three venues in India. 
Apart from this, it is reported that the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 won't be having a captain photoshoot because of the different challenges along with the different arrivals of the team. This means that Rohit Sharma won't be travelling to Pakistan for this and will be staying in Dubai with the team. 
The opening ceremony of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be held in Lahore. There were talks of having the event in Karachi but the Pakistan Cricket Board decided to host it in Lahore.

India has been without the services of Rinku Singh for the last two games of the IND vs ENG series. The left-hander sustained a low back spasm while fielding in the first game and was then ruled out of the next two games of the series as he was under the observation of the BCCI medical team. 
In his place, the India team added Dhruv Jurel to the XI, and the move didn't pay off. The keeper-batter batted lower down the order and struggled to get going in both games, and it potentially cost them the last match of the series.

His highest score—173—came against Bengal. A stellar 2009-10 season earned him a Test call-up, and in 2011, he made his debut in whites against the West Indies.
