The ICC typically releases the schedules for the World Cup at least a year in advance, however, this time it has also been expecting for the BCCI to receive the required approvals from the Indian government. ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Super League Points Table: Sri Lanka is currently touring New Zealand for two tests, three one-day international matches, and three Twenty20 international matches where till now, the hosts have taken hard hands on the visitors each and every time. The second ODI in Christchurch was washed out due to rain on March 28; nonetheless, the hosts still have a 1-0 advantage. The setback from the rain spoiler has severely hurt Sri Lanka's hopes to directly qualify for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, which is set to be held in India this year.



New Zealand beat Sri Lanka in the first ODI by 198 runs and took the lead in the series. New Zealand, batting first, posted a total of 274 runs riding on Finn Allen and Daryl Mitchell's excellence. Sri Lanka, in return, only managed to score 76 runs and lasted only 19.5 overs and New Zealand won the ODI by 198 runs.

Sri Lanka likely started the tour with the expectation that they would defeat New Zealand in the ODI series and earn a straight qualification spot for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Instead, the Blackcaps defeated Sri Lanka in the first ODI, and rain did the job and upset the visitors in the second ODI. Now, the third and last ODI will be played on 31 March at Hamilton which would be the last hope for the Lions.



The recently concluded Netherlands vs Zimbabwe series was also part of the <a href="https://www.icc-cricket.com/homepage" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ICC</a> ODI World Cup 2023 Super League where Zimbabwe have clinched the series 2-1. Although Netherlands won the first ODI by 3 wickets, the hosts came back stronger in the 2nd ODI and won the thriller by 1 run and also won the decider by 7 wickets.



Earlier this week, South Africa, led by Aiden Markram, defeated West Indies in the third and final one-day international at Potchefstroom to even the series at one game each. SA came to the 9th position but now Sri Lanka have reclaimed the 9th spot after a rain spoiler.

ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Super League Points Table: Sri Lanka was unable to win the third and final One-Day International (ODI) against New Zealand at Hamilton's Seddon Park and the blackcaps took the series 2-0. Sri Lanka is therefore out of contention for direct qualification to the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, which will be hosted in India later this year.



After winning the toss, Sri Lanka decided to bat first. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Sri Lankan batters failed to fire yet again. Only the opening batsman Pathum Nissanka (57), the captain Dasun Shanaka (31), and Chamika Karunaratne (24) produced notable contributions, while Matt Henry, Henry Shipley, and Daryl Mitchell each grabbed three wickets. The hosts New Zealand bundled out Sri Lanka just in 157 runs.

Chasing 158 for victory in Hamilton, New Zealand overcame a wobbly start that saw it lose two wickets in the second over. The hosts lost quick three wickets within 21 runs in form of Chad Bowes, Tom Blundell, and Daryl Mitchell. Riding on Will Young's 86 runs and Henry Nicholls' 44 runs, the hosts got home with 103 balls to spare.



Netherlands Tour of South Africa 2023 including the two-match ODI series is also part of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Super League. In the first ODI, the proteas handed a sounding defeat to the Netherlands by 8 wickets. South Africa is currently in the ninth spot with 88 points. The Proteas have played 20 matches in their <a href="https://www.icc-cricket.com/homepage" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ICC</a> Men's Cricket World Cup Super League campaign and have won eight out of their total matches whereas they have also lost 10 games. 



South Africa now basically can reach up to 98 points if they win their remaining match against the Netherlands and will definitely surpass West Indies from the eighth spot.

Along with South Africa, Ireland has a series against Bangladesh coming up in May that gives them a chance to move up to the eighth slot. With 68 points, Ireland is currently in 11th place. They may overcome West Indies and finish eighth to automatically qualify for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 if they defeat Bangladesh in all three of the one-day internationals.

ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Super League Points Table: South Africa upset Netherlands in the final test of a three-match ODI series shutting down all the hopes of Netherlands to automatic qualification to the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. This win has, however, put South Africa in the top-8 of the ICC ICC ODI World Cup 2023 Super League Points Table.



This ODI series of SA vs NED was started back in November 2021 when the first match was washed out by rain and ended with no result. Classy 95* from Kyle Verreynne set the tone for the proteas and South Africa set a respectable total of 277/8. The second innings was washed out by rain and the match was called off.



Due to the risk of the CoVid-19 new variant rapidly spreading over that part of the globe, both boards decided to indefinitely postpone the series. The series was now reconsidered in 2023 where the remaining two matches were scheduled for 31st March and 2nd April.

Based on the latest information. The ODI world cup will be hosted across several cities in India. These cities includes Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Indore, Dharamshala, Guwahati, Raipur, and Rajkot and it should be noted that these are proposed cities, they may be changed if some changes may required.



Interestingly, out of these 12 venues, only six of them, which is Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and Bangalore, had previously hosted matches during the 2011 ODI world cups. This indicated there would be new venues for the upcoming tournament, offering a fresh experience for players and fans.

IND vs ENG: Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has announced his playing XI for the first T20I against England. The match between the two teams is all set to take place on Wednesday (22nd January) at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali talked about the delay in the squad of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 for the Pakistan team. He said that it might look like they are scared of announcing the team, but it seems that they don't know what to do. 
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is around the corner and all the teams have named their squad for the tournament except the hosts Pakistan. The Men in Green are yet to announce the team even though the deadline of 12th January has already been surpassed by a long margin. 
India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan have all revealed their squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This has made many speculate about why Pakistan isn't announcing their squad for the tournament, which is less than one month away. 
There have been several reports that Pakistan will be announcing their squad for the tournament soon. They are awaiting the fitness of a few players, and hence, they will soon be naming the team. Some reports also have revealed the players who will be playing, but an official announcement is yet to come.

It remains to be seen when will Pakistan announce the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament is all set to take place from 19th February, with the final all set to be played on 9th March.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has issued a warning to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over the jersey controversy ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This comes after the Indian governing body refused to write 'Pakistan' on their kits for the tournament. 
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is all set to be hosted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is scheduled to begin on 19th February. The preparations for the tournament are on, and the ICC and the PCB are taking every step possible to make sure that everything is right on track. 
However, a controversy recently erupted after BCCI refused to write Pakistan on their jersey for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Notably, every participating nation, as per the ICC policy, has to write the name of the host nation below the logo of the tournament on their jersey. 
After BCCI refused to sport it, Pakistan Cricket Board officials made a strong statement, saying that BCCI is trying to use politics in every matter. He, however, mentioned that they are hopeful that ICC will support them and India will be asked to write the name of the jersey on their kits for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Following this, BCCI also reacted, and the insider from the governing body said that since they are playing in Dubai, it isn't mandatory for them to wear the 'Pakistan written jersey'. The BCCI also stressed that they didn't write Pakistan's name on the podium of the Trophy tours as well. 
Amid all this, ICC has come up with a strong response for the BCCI. An ICC official mentioned that it is the responsibility of the host nation to add the tournament logo to their jersey. He stated: 
"It is the responsibility of every team to add the tournament logo to their jerseys. All teams are obligated to comply with this rule," an ICC official said as per A-Sports, as quoted by NDTV. 
Not only this, it is learned that the ICC also warned BCCI that they would be taking strict action if they didn't wear the Pakistan-written jersey during the tournament.
