Yuvraj Singh: The former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh likely to feature in Punjab?s SMAT squad. The chances of Yuvraj Singh stepping into competitive cricket got increased after Punjab included his name in the list of probable 30 players who can take part in SMAT 2021.



The swashbuckling all-rounder had confirmed his retirement from all forms of cricket last year. However, Punjab Cricket Association asked him to play for them and Singh assured his presence.



The southpaw was seen practicing in nets at Punjab Cricket Academy soon after he turned 39. He shared his training video on his Instagram.

Bandar Sarn is another noticeable inclusion by Punjab Cricket Association along with Yuvraj Singh. The speedster had moved to Chandigarh last year after he was left out from the Punjab Squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy.



Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will be the beginning of the domestic circuit after the Pandemic. The opener of SMAT will be played on 10th January.



However, the decision for Ranji Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy is not yet taken by the board.

ICC WTC should be a 3 match affair, India at a slight disadvantage said, Yuvraj Singh.



Yuvraj Singh feels that the ICC World Test Championship final should be a three games affair between India and New Zealand as the current scenarios put India at a ?slight disadvantage? against the Kiwis.



The Kane Williamson-led New Zealand is currently engaged in a two games Test series against England and will ahead to the final with enough match practice while the Indian team will advance further without any proper match practice.



The final of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship will be played at Rose Bowl, Southampton, starting June 18 between India and New Zealand.



"I feel in a situation like this, there should be a best of 3 Tests, because if you lose the first one then you can come back in the next two. India will have a slight disadvantage because New Zealand are already playing Test cricket in England," Yuvraj told Sports Tak.



India landed in the UK on 3rd June after which the team underwent a three days quarantine before heading out to have individual practice sessions. Virat and his men will have around 8-10 sessions of practice before advancing to the final run.

"There are 8-10 practice sessions but there's no substitute for match-practice. It will be an even contest but New Zealand will have an edge."



The former cricketer reckons that India has a formidable playing unit as compared to the Kiwis in both aspects of the game. 



?I do believe that India is very strong because lately, we have been winning games outside the country. I think our batting is stronger and bowling is at par,? stated Yuvraj Singh.



The southpaw said that Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, who are going to be Indian openers, will have to get acclimated to the conditions. To win score runs in England, India will have to adapt to the swing movements quickly, said the 2011 World Cup hero.



"Rohit Sharma is very experienced now in Test matches. He has almost 7 hundreds, 4 hundreds as opener. But both Rohit and Shubman Gill have not opened in England ever," Yuvraj said.



"They know the challenge, the Dukes Ball swings early. They have to get used to the conditions quickly. In England, it's important to take it one session at a time. In the morning, the ball swings and seams, in the afternoon you can score runs, after Tea, it swings again. As a batsman, if you can adapt to these things, you can be successful."

Team India?s World Cup 2011 hero Yuvraj Singh in his recent conversation with Gaurav Kapoor in the podcast called ?22 Yarns? revealed what Stuart Broad?s father told him after he smashed his son for six consecutive sixes in an over.



During the 2007 T20 World Cup game between England and India, Yuvraj Singh and Andrew Flintoff got engaged in a heated argument in the 17th over of the first innings. The argument between the two got red hot and the Umpires had to intervene in order to resume the play.



Furious with what happened an over before, Yuvraj Singh took his revenge as he smacked Stuart Broad to six sixes in the very next over. With this Singh became the only fourth cricketer in senior cricket to achieve this feat.



Remembering the conversation with Stuart Broad's father Chris Broad, who is an ICC Match referee, Yuvraj Singh said, ?I remember when we were playing the semifinal against Australia, Chris Broad, Stuart?s father was the match referee. He came before the game and said ?thank you for almost finishing my son?s career.? I said ?nothing personal. I got hit for 5 sixes, I know how it feels.?

The 39-years old cricketer did not respond to Chris Board's comment as he was also hit off to five sixes in an over by a batsman and he knows how it feels.



Yuvraj further said that he gave his T20 shirt to Stuart Broad as his father had asked him for that.



?He was like ?you have to give that shirt to Stuart, the one you wore while hitting six sixes.? I gave him the shirt and wrote ?I know how it feels, coz I have been hit for five.? I said ?you are the future of England, I?m sure you are gonna do great things.? And look where he is today, more than 500 Test wickets,? Yuvraj said.



Stuart Broad, the English pace stalwart, is amongst the highest wicket-takers in Test Cricket. He is also the third most capped English player in the longest format with 147 Test matches and 518 wickets under his decorated hat.

The 2011 World Cup-winning cricketer compared the likes of legendary Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist with Rishabh Pant. He can change the course of the game in a blink and can be really destructive.



"I see someone, Rishabh Pant, like Adam Gilchrist who can change the course of the game. Gilchrist changed the course of the game in Test cricket when he came onto the scene. And I feel Rishabh can do the same," he said.

Yuvraj Singh arrested for making casteist remarks against Yuzvendra Chahal.



Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh was on Saturday arrested by Hansi Police (Haryana) for allegedly making casteist slur during an Instagram live last year. He was, though, given interim bail on the orders of Punjab and Haryana High Court.



The 35-years old cricketer during an Instagram Live, conducted in April last year, with opener Rohit Sharma uttered some casteist remarks unknowingly against leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal which didn't go well with Chahal's fans. The people on social media has constantly targeted Singh multiple times and has often demanded apologies.



Rajat Kalsan, a lawyer from Hasni, filed a complaint against the former cricketer for his poor casteist comments after which action was taken against Yuvraj Singh and was booked under Sections 153A and 153B of Indian Penal Code Section 3(1)(u) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention and Atrocities) Act.



Nitika Gahulaut, Superintendent of Police (Hansi) confirmed the formal arrest of the Ex Indian cricketer and after which he was released on bail.

The 2011 World Cup-winning cricketer has issued his apology for the same and has expressed his regret for unknowingly hurting people?s sentiments.?



"This is to clarify I have never believed in any kind of disparity, be it on the basis of caste, colour, creed or gender. I have given and continue to spend my life for the welfare of people. I believe in the dignity of life and respect each individual without exception,? wrote Yuvraj Singh in his apology which was posted across his social media handles.
