Tata IPL 2023 Auction Date CONFIRMED, BCCI to hold IPL 2023 on December 16: In the latest turn of events, Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 mini-auction is set to be staged on December 16 as reported by Times of India. It was earlier precisely reported that the mini-auctions for the Tata IPL 2023 will be held somewhere in the mid of December.
The latest edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) saw the tournament touching new heights. With the induction of two new IPL teams – Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants – the Indian T20 league widened its horizon for talented Indian youngsters.
As per the recent reports, once again Bangaluru has been chosen to host the IPL 2023 mini-auction.
It’s important to note that, the upcoming edition of the IPL will welcome its original format of home and away fixtures. Every team will get to play a reasonable number of matches away from their home ground and an equal number of matches in their own backyard.
The same format was last used back in IPL 2019 during the pre-covid times when Mumbai Indians (MI) lift their fourth IPL title defeating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by one run.
Earlier on September 22, the outgoing BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly wrote to all the stage cricket associations regarding the comeback of home and away fixtures in the IPL 2023.

“The next season of men’s IPL will also go back to the home-and-away format with all the 10 teams playing their home matches at their designated venues,” he wrote.
It’s important to note that, this year’s auction won’t be as big as it was in 2022. Not every player will go under the hammer this time, unlike last season. Most of the teams would look to retain most of their players while only a handful of these will be sent to the auction table.
Moreover, the total purse value for each IPL team this year will get an increment. Last year, INR 90 Crores was allotted to each IPL franchise to build their side, but in IPL 2023 auction the purse value will be INR 95 Crore – an increment of INR 5 Crore from the last season.
