Manish Pandey looked off-color last season but to say the least, Pandey is an IPL legend. Season after season he has been the backbone of the batting line-up he has played for. The other strength is their fast-bowling depth. They have the top players in the business. Khaleel, Chetan, Kamlesh, and Mustafizur. The presence of Anrich Nortje adds immense value too. He constantly clocks 150 kmph.
Weakness of the Delhi Capitals:
The weakness is the absence of an Indian middle-order batter. They are relying on Sarfaraz Khan but Sarfaraz has got the runs in red-ball cricket. His numbers in the white-ball domestic circuit are not very exciting. The other options at number 6 are Ripal Patel and Lalit Yadav. They backed Lalit last season; it will be the same this season. There are no other evident weaknesses.

With weaknesses, come opportunities. Lalit Yadav or Ripal Patel or Sarfaraz Khan will play at least 7 games. And 7 games are enough to leave an impact if they get a chance to bat. Ayush Badoni is one example who did the same last year. His scores were not very high while playing for the Lucknow Super Giants but his performances were impactful. Jitesh Sharma is another example. Jitesh even earned a national call-up based on his display for the Punjab Kings.
Threats for the Delhi Capitals in TATA IPL 2023:
The absence and the workload management of their expected skipper David Warner. Warner is the most crucial player for Australia in the Ashes. So, if Cricket Australia wants to withdraw his name in the later stages of the TATA IPL 2023, they can do it. Finding the right combination with a good finisher is a big task for the team. They do have Rovman Powell in the squad but only time will tell whether he will be effectively used or not.

Anrich Nortje is an X-Factor player and so is Prithvi Shaw. Prithvi Shaw is coming after scoring almost a world-record score in the Ranji Trophy. While Anrich Nortje is fit as a fiddle and will bowl at 150 kmph throughout the tournament. He scares the batters by sheer pace.
