The TATA IPL 2023 saw a “no-contest” kind of game on April 2. RCB took on the Mumbai Indians and outplayed them in both departments. “Used to Playing Without Jasprit Bumrah”, Says Rohit Sharma in TATA IPL 2023:
Jasprit Bumrah’s absence will cost the Mumbai Indians. It is inevitable. Bumrah is out due to a back injury since the Asia Cup 2022. He has been ruled out due to a lower back injury and has undergone surgery for the same in New Zealand. He is expected to make a recovery in time for World Cup 2023. But this void of Bumrah has caused issues for the Mumbai Indians.
The Mumbai Indians’ bowling looked lackluster in the absence of the Indian speedster. When enquired about the same, here is what skipper Rohit Sharma had to say about it, “From the last six to eight months I am used to playing without Jasprit Bumrah. Of course, this is a different setup but someone needs to put their hand up and step up. We can’t keep dwelling on it. Injuries are not in our control, we can’t do much about them. The other guys in the setup are quite talented as well. We need to give them that support.”
“We should have bat well”, Says Rohit Sharma:
Rohit Sharma also shed light on the fact that his team’s batting was below par. He said, “We should have bat well. It was a batting pitch. We did not bat to our potential. 30-40 runs more would have been enough. But some of the shots played today by Tilak, showed a lot of courage.”.
Mumbai Indians’ Bowling Struggling in TATA IPL 2023:
Only 1 match of the Mumbai Indians has taken place so far, but all the analysts and pundits have started saying that the Mumbai Indian’s bowling will struggle in TATA IPL 2023. Arshad Khan was the only positive for the Mumbai bowling. He was missing his line but his ball was swinging in. He was also clocking 140 kmph. Apart from him Cameron Green, Jofra Archer, and Jason Behrendorff didn’t bowl in the right areas. They struggled. Most of the bowlers leaked runs at over 10 runs an over.
