TATA IPL 2023: Top 3 Teams with the Best Opening Combinations in the Upcoming Season of the TATA IPL.

Here is a quick look at the best opening combinations in the TATA IPL 2023 season.

The TATA IPL 2023 will begin in just two months. The teams are getting ready for the biggest season in the history of the tournament. TATA IPL 2023 will be played for over 2 months and will feature many sensational players. The TATA IPL 2023 season will have many well-established teams, and the competition is expected to be top-notch.

A one-sided game is going to be rare. The openers set the tone of an inning. They are the ones who make a team’s intent very clear. So, which teams have the best opening combinations? Here is a look:

1) Mumbai Indians have Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan/Cameron Green in TATA IPL 2023:

Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan are the Indian cricket team’s second-choice opening combination. So, it can be understood how impactful their combination is. The best part is that it is a good mix of experience and youth, patience and flamboyance. The left-hand and right-hand duo makes it difficult for the bowlers as the bowler has to fix his delivery angle as well. Ishan Kishan plays with a strike rate of 150 in the powerplay. They also have the exciting option to play Cameron Green as an opener. But who will sacrifice their position for this to happen? Rohit struggles against the left-arm pacers a bit but that is not the case on all days. He will be back to his top form in TATA IPL 2023.

2) Delhi Capitals have Prithvi Shaw and David Warner in TATA IPL 2023:

This is another good mix of experience and youth. This foreign and domestic duo is a dominant force. One certainly knows how good Warner can be on his day. He can take the game away in a matter of just a few overs. Prithvi on the other hand is just the same but with a little less consistency. That is a point on which he needs to work. This duo has played exceptionally well in the last season. They bat at a strike rate of 140+ in the powerplay. Prithvi’s game against the excellent length balls has improved and Warner has an elite game against the short ball. The left-hand and right-hand combination works for them as well and they will dominate in the TATA IPL 2023 season.

Honorable Mentions:

  • 1) Shubman Gill and Kane Williamson for Gujarat Titans.
  • 2) Abhishek Sharma and Mayank Agarwal for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

3) Lucknow Super Giants have KL Rahul and Quinton De Kock:

How good are Quinton De Kock and KL Rahul? Well, both of them amassed almost a cumulative of 1000 runs among themselves in TATA IPL 2022. De Kock’s inning of 140 in 70 balls is one for the ages. He made the KKR bowlers toil on the field and chase leather like never before. KL on the other hand is the most consistent batter in the IPL in the past 4 seasons. It is not even a special achievement if KL ends up scoring 600+ runs in an IPL season. The people are used to it. The only criticism that they get is the fact that at times, both the batters have a low strike rate and take a lot of time to settle in. They have had a 210-run opening stand against KKR!
