TATA IPL

The TATA IPL is a platform for all players across the globe to showcase their talent. Chris Gayle is one such international player who came to the party when it mattered the most. When his team was down and out, it was Chris who used to win games single-handedly. In a recent interview with Jio Cinema for the upcoming TATA IPL season, Chris Gayle made some big revelations on why he feels RCB does not have a trophy. Here is an in-depth look at what the Jamaican had to say:

TATA IPL: Chris Gayle Says, ?Only 3 Players Got the Attention At RCB?:

In an interview with Parthiv Patel and Robin Uthappa for one of the promotional events of the TATA IPL 2023 season, Chris Gayle opened up on why he feels that the RCB team fails to win a trophy. He emphasized the fact that most of the players felt left out and did not feel like a part of the RCB team or RCB family. He also said that only 3 of all the players got most of the attention.

?Sometimes, being one of the main players, being the main man of the franchise, I am always in my zone, pretty much. What I understand about the RCB point of view is that many players felt left out. A lot of players did not feel like they were a part of the franchise. It was like only three players getting all the attention - myself, Virat, and AB. A lot of players, pretty much mentally, were nowhere within the team. So that's always going to be a challenge to win a title", Gayle told Parthiv and Robin.

Chris Gayle joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore in TATA IPL 2011 as a replacement for the injured Dirk Nannes. Since then, he made this franchise his own. He was the face of the franchise till 2016. Gayle was recently inducted into the hall of fame.

RCB Lacked Team Culture Unlike Mumbai Indians:

This interview with Chris Gayle made it evident that Royal Challengers Bangalore lacked team culture in the initial seasons of the TATA IPL. But now things are changing. The RCB team is developing a team culture for the past few TATA IPL seasons. They have made a core group of senior players around whom the team revolves.

The teams that have evident success in the TATA IPL are known for their team culture. The Mumbai Indians are often regarded as the most welcoming franchise. They also run a program called MI Family, which shows their efforts to make all the players included. The Chennai Super Kings also have a great team culture. Harbhajan Singh who has been a part of both these franchises says that? The fact that sets Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings apart is that they are not just a cricket team but a family.?
