While Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is on, the excitement for the T20 World Cup 2024 has started taking its toll on the fans. The tournament will be played in June in the United States of America and the Caribbean, just after the ongoing league ends.
One of the favourites going into the T20 World Cup 2024 will be the Indian Cricket Team. The Rohit Sharma-led side have been playing some quality cricket of late and have been dominating the games but they have yet to win the ICC title since 2013.
Therefore the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be a great opportunity for them to end the title drought and give their fans something to cheer about. The Indian squad for the tournament is likely to be announced in the next couple of days since the deadline is 1st May.
With the squad announcement just around the corner, it is learned that the India team will be travelling to the USA on 21st May for the T20 World Cup 2024. As per the reports in Times of India, it is learned that the first batch will be the players who are not part of the IPL Play-offs.
This is because BCCI wants players to get used to the conditions in the USA. India will be opening their account in the T20 World Cup 2024 with the clash against Ireland on 5th June and would be keen to start the tournament on high.
