Team India touch down South Africa for the upcoming 3 matches Test Series: Team India spearheaded by red ball captain Virat Kohli touched down in South Africa for the upcoming three matches test series against the Rainbow nation. The red ball series will be followed by the three matches ODI series, starting January 19.
The test squad boarded a flight from Mumbai early this morning (16th December) and they landed in South Africa in the evening.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) social media handles posted the picture of the cricketers in South Africa with a caption, “Touchdown South Africa.”
Owing to the threat posed by the Omicron variant of coronavirus, the four matches T20I series between India and South Africa was postponed which will be played at a later date.
The only concern for the Indian team is the availability of new Indian white-ball captain Rohit Sharma. The cricketer has sustained a serious hamstring injury due to which he has been ruled out of the three matches Test series.
