Team India’s SWOT analysis: The much-awaited ICC’s mega event is just around the corner and all the participating teams have been gearing up well to showcase a real tough fight in the arena. The global cricket body has already announced the schedule for the showpiece ICC event. The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 is slated to be held in the UAE and Oman, starting October 17.
The Indian team is currently touring England for a marathon test tour comprising of five test matches. The visitors are up in the series with 1-nil while the third test match is underway. Following the completion of the test tour, the Indian outfit will directly head to the UAE for the remaining IPL 2021 and the subsequent T20 World Cup 2021.
Although India is one of the favourites to lift the coveted T20I trophy, there are certain areas that are needed to be covered as the men in blue take field in the World Cup. So, here is the comprehensive SWOT (Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis of team India.
Team India’s SWOT analysis for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021:
Strength:
The major strength the Indian team possess is the presence of a formidable outfit and an impact player in every position. Right from square one India has a squad packed with big match winners. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in a team makes the outfit an intimidating one.
Moreover, India has a well-settled top and middle order although the Indian management would love to do a few tweaks here and there. The players know their roles and responsibilities quite well and their experience will be handy.
The Indian bowling unit has a lot to deliver this time. India has one of the best bowling attacks currently. The pace bowling is accurate and has all the variations and at the same time spin attack is not lacking anywhere behind.
Weaknesses:
In recent times, the Indian selectors and management are concerned about the performances of Indian all-rounders. Hardik Pandya is going through a pale form in his career currently. Ever since the all-rounder has returned from his injury, he has been out of touch.
The recent Sri Lanka limited-overs tour was hard for the decorated all-rounder. Pandya managed to get starts, however, failed to convert them into big scores. Moreover, he was not quite accurate with his bowling.
Virat Kohli loves to bat deep and the presence of Hardik Pandya at 7 or 8 makes the job easier for the skipper. His pale form will hurt the Indians in the T20 World Cup.

Opportunities:
With a couple of blistering knocks in the past, Suryakumar Yadav has his good chance to make it to the final playing11 for the T20 World Cup. Yadav is expected to ply his trade for India and his presence will bolster the Indian playing11.
Moreover, there have been certain questions over Virat Kohli’s captaincy records as the skipper has failed multiple times to get his hands on the trophy. The rout of the 2017 Champions Trophy, 2019 ODI World Cup Semi-Finals and the 2021 World Test Championship Final haunts the Indian team until now.
This will be the perfect setting to break the shackles of winning the ICC tournaments. Virat Kohli and his men will be keen on producing a dream run to lift the coveted trophy of the T20 World Cup.
Threats:
The major threat would be tackling fatigue and tiredness due to consistent cricket. India is currently engaged in the five matches test series following which they will feature in the IPL 2021. After the completion of the remainder of the IPL 2021, T20 World Cup will commence. So, there is a lot of cricket in between.
Injuries will be another issue that is connected with fatigue and tiredness.
