The Fate of Asia Cup 2023 will be decided in sideline of IPL 2023 finals: The Cricket Board of India(BCCI) has invited Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka Cricket Board’s presidents for the IPL 2023 Finals, which will be happening at Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat.
The Decision regarding Asia Cup 2023 will be decided on the sideline of the IPL 2023 Finals on May 18th. The Top Asian Cricket Council(ACC) Countries will attend the meeting regarding the host nation of the Asia Cup.
As per the Schedule Of ACC, Pakistan will host the Asia Cup 2023, but BCCI said they would not send their team as the Indian government will not allow Team India to play cricket in Pakistan because of Security concerns.
In response, PCB chairman Najam Sethi proposed a hybrid model to the Asian Cricket Council. In this Model, Pakistan and other countries, including India, will play matches of Asia Cup 2023 in Pakistan, whereas India and Pakistan will play each other games at neutral venues.
PCB warns India regarding the world cup 2023 as they will not play world cup matches in India and will play their matches in Bangladesh or any other neutral venue if their model is accepted.
As per the reports, The Cricket Board of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh was not happy with this hybrid model as they have an issue regarding logistic and wants UAE to host the Asia cup 2023.
Pakistan will not play Asia Cup 2023 if…
After lots of Decisions and meetings, PCB chairman Najam Sethi said they would keep the tournament’s hosting rights. It will be held at a neutral venue as it was done last time when Sri Lanka was about to the Asia Cup. Still, due to political instability and Civil riots, ACC has decided to shift the Asia Cup to UAE.
PCB chairman said that the hybrid model we prepared is good and acceptable and it will be suitable for all countries but warned India that if their model gets rejected, then they will pull out of this tournament and also threat not to play the Cricket world cup 2023 in India which will happen in October just one-month after the Asia cup 2023.
