The fewer for the Indian Premier League (IPL)  2024 is on and the excitement has taken its toll on the fans. Going into the tournament, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be one of the hot favourites to win the tournament. The talent and the experience that they have makes them one of the top contenders for IPL 2024.

CSK will be missing the services of Devon Conway for the first part of the IPL 2024. This no doubt will hamper their opening combination because the Kiwi batter was one of the main reasons behind their success last year. 

But him with being ruled out for the first part of the IPL, it’ll be a great opportunity for someone else to chip in. As the IPL 2024 is just a few days away now, let’s take a look at three opening combinations that CSK can try for IPL 2024: 

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra 

Ruturaj Gaikwad opening the innings alongside Rachin Ravindra will be one of the ideal combinations that CSK can try for the IPL 2024. While Gaikwad has locked the spot for the team in the last few years, Rachin has done exceptionally well on the international stage. Opening the innings, he has been staggering for New Zealand in white-ball cricket and his being at the top provides the team with a left-right combination.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ajinkya Rahane

Another opening combination that CSK might try for the IPL 2024 is Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ajinkya Rahane. The senior batter has a great experience of opening the innings and might be perfect with Gaikwad. Rahane was terrific with the bat during the last season of the IPL and played some handy knocks for the team. Batting in the powerplay will allow him to bat more freely and score runs quickly. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell 

To open the innings with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell will be another ideal option for CSK for the IPL 2024. The Kiwi all-rounder is the backbone of his national team in the middle order. But he has opened the innings quite a few times. Batting him at the top allows CSK to play Mooen Ali in the middle order and other Indian domestic players as well.
