2. Kumar Sangakkara
Sri Lanka’s legendary wicket-keeper batsman, Kumar Sangakkara is second on the list of top run-getters in Asia Cup history. The left handed batsman in his career span of 2004-2014 played a total of 24 matches (23 innings) and has 1075 runs to his name with an average of close to 49.
He has smashed 4 centuries and 8 half centuries while featuring for Sri Lanka in the tournament. He batted with a strike rate of 84.39 and his highest individual score in the tournament was 121.
1. Sanath Jayasuriya
Another Sri Lankan legendary left-handed batsman, Sanath Jayasuriya makes it to the top of the list of the highest run scorers in Asia Cup history. Jayasuriya who was one of the most destructive batsmen of his time in white ball cricket is the top scorer in the history of the Asia Cup history till date.
The explosive opening batsman has scored 1220 runs in the 25 matches (24 innings) that he’s been a part of. He batted with an incredibly high strike rate of 102.53 and a mouth-watering average of 53.04. his highest individual score in the tournament was 130. He also smashed a record number of 6 centuries and 3 half centuries in the tournament.
