Top 3 Players CSK might retain in ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

IPL 2022 Mega Auction: With the sudden suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 all the focus of the IPL fans has been shifted towards the next year’s IPL. As said earlier, the BCCI will add two new IPL franchises to the existing pool of eight to make the Indian T20 tournament an affair of 10 teams.

The Mega Auction will be held in order to shuffle the players and redistribute them. Each franchise will have the rights to retain a maximum of two Indian players and an overseas player. Also, they can use two RTM cards, on one Indian player and another for an overseas player.

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) made a fresh start to season fourteen. MS Dhoni-led side managed to outplay almost every side and was already adjudged as the first contender of the playoffs.

While it will be a headache for the support staff and the owners to pick players for the retention as they have several match winners. Here are three Players CSK might retain in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

3 Players Chennai Super Kings (CSK) might retain in ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction:

Sam Curran:

The young English all-rounder was acquired by CSK in the 2020 IPL auction for whopping INR 5.5 Crores after he was left by Punjab Kings. After landing in CSK, Curran has been magical.

In IPL 2020, Curran was the only player for CSK who performed well in all the games. He was shuffled to various positions and he successfully pulled off everything which came his way.

CSK retained him in IPL 2021 as he was a promising sign for CSK’s future. With his bowling and finishing abilities, he is destructive and has taken Dwayne Bravo’s place in CSK.

Ravindra Jadeja:

Ravindra Jadeja will be the first name in front of the CSK management for retention. Over the last couple of years, he has been sensational for CSK and Team India. CSK retained him in the mega auction 2018 and since then he has turned the tables quite a few times.

Most of the cricket experts see him as the future captain of the CSK after MS Dhoni’s retirement. Sir Jadeja can be lethal with the ball in hand both while bowling and while fielding. He has been phenomenal with the bat too.

Ruturaj Gaikwad:

The 24-years old cricketer came to the limelight in the latter part of the IPL 2020. Gaikwad smacked three consecutive half-centuries for CSK and came out to be a promising sign for CSK in the future.

In the suspended IPL 2021, Gaikwad played some sensational knocks partnering with Faf du Plessis. He starts slow but when he gets going, he is unstoppable. Even though he doesn’t score many boundaries in the early overs, he keeps the strike rate up by rotating the strike.

It will be an interesting call for the CSK management if they retain the youngster.
