Top 3 Six hitters in Men’s T20I history

Sixes have always been an important aspect of a T20I match. No matter what the situation of the innings is, or what phase the game is in, a big hit over the fence is all a team needs to gain the upper hand. Several batsmen all across the globe have been seen helping their team get over the line courtesy of some wonderful big hitting. 

The six-hitting ability is what makes a batsman useful to the side during a steep run chase, or even post a big total by spring quick runs in the middle and death overs. Over the years, the shortest format of cricket has seen several such batsmen mastering the art of hitting the ball into the stands at will. 

It’s time for us to take a look at the top three batsmen with the most sixes in T20 internationals so far. 

3. Chris Gayle (124 sixes)

At no.3 in the list of top 6 hitters in T20Is is none other than the universe boss Chris Gayle. The left-handed hard-hitting opening batsman has smashed a total of 124 sixes in the 75 innings that he’s featured in T20Is. 

His strike rate has been that of 137.89 along with an average of around 28. The West Indian was also the first man to hit a century in the history of T20Is.

2. Rohit Sharma (164)

At no.2 in the list is the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. Sharma who is widely known for his effortless sixes and destructive batting style has smashed a total of 164 sixes in the 124 innings of T20Is for his team. 

The right-hander has had a strike rate of 140.26 with an average of 32.28. He is the player with the most centuries in the history of T20I cricket so far.

The player with the most sixes in the history of T20I cricket so far is kiwi opener Martin Guptill. The right-handed tall batsman has smashed a total of 170 sixes in the 114 T20I innings that he’s played so far. 

The hard-hitting opener had a strike rate of close to 136 along with an average of 32. He has scored two centuries in his T20I career too.
