Trent Boult refuses to return for the IPL 2025? Reports suggest a massive development for Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians (MI) fast bowler Trent Boult is all set to return for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. As per the reports in ESPNCricinfo, it is learned that the pacer has decided to join the team for the rest of the games.

All the foreign players of the IPL 2025 went back home after the league was suspended for one week due to the tensions between India and Pakistan. However, now, with the league all set to resume on 17th May, the franchises have been calling back their players.

Some of the overseas players reportedly have denied coming back due to safety concerns. There were a lot of speculations over Trent Boult's availability as well, but the fast bowler has put his hand up in coming back for the IPL 2025.

Trent Boult has taken 18 wickets in the IPL 2025

This will be a major boost for Mumbai Indians as Trent Boult has been the main reason behind the team's success. The left-arm pacer has been bowling exceptionally well in the league and is the leading wicket-taker for the Hardik Pandya-led side in the ongoing 18th edition of IPL.

Trent Boult, who was the most expensive buy for MI at the last mega auction at INR 12.5 crore, has taken 18 wickets in the IPL 2025 at an economy rate of 8.49. He also is the joint-fourth leading wicket-taker in the IPL 2025.

Mumbai Indians, who are fourth on the IPL 2025 points table, might be impacted massively. The franchise is still awaiting the availability of three of their first-choice overseas players: the South African pair of Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch and England batting allrounder Will Jacks.

The three players are likely to be available till 25th May. This is because Cricket South Africa has given the NOCs to their players till the 26th only. Both Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch are part of the ICC World Test Championship squad. While for Will Jacks, he will return home before 29th May for the ODI series against West Indies.
