Two RCB players who can have a breakthrough season in the Tata IPL 2022: The festival of cricket has just begun with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clashing in the tournament opener last night in the Wankhede Stadium. The ongoing IPL season will see several young stars from different parts of the world shine and steal the limelight.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) former skipper Virat Kohli has shared his thoughts on such players in his team. Kohli shared two names from the RCB squad who can potentially have a breakthrough T20 season.

Kohli first picked Sri Lankan spin bowling all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga to bring up his A-game and perform exceedingly well. The Indian cricketer said that he is really excited about Wanindu Hasaranga.

“I am particularly excited about Wanindu, I think he is someone who could really come into the zone. He has the skills to have a great season, a really consistent season”, said Virat Kohli on RCB’s social media handle.

Hasaranga was bought by RCB, last year, however, he was released from the squad ahead of the mega auction 2022. RCB again bought back the Sri Lankan by paying INR 10.75 Crores during the auction.

The former RCB skipper then heaped praise on wicketkeeper batter Anuj Rawat. The 22-years old featured for Rajasthan Royals (RR) last year but was bought by RCB for INR 3.4 Crores in the IPL 2022.

“Anuj is another one who is a very exciting talent. (He is) a breakthrough season potential. These are the names that I look at”, Kohli added.

Meanwhile, RCB is gearing up to fight its opening contest against Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) on March 27th.

Virat Kohli will no longer lead RCB, as he stepped down from the leadership role last year after the IPL 2021. The franchise, recently, announced South African Faf du Plessis as their new skipper.
