Pace sensation Umran Mailk has bowled the fastest ball by an Indian pacer in a long time. This occurred during the first Twenty20 International between India and Sri Lanka. He bowled at 155 kmph while dismissing Dasun Shanaka. Umran Malik and his pace have been talking since he made his debut for the Sunrisers Hyderabad last year. From being a net bowler for the Sunrisers Hyderabad to playing a T20I for India, the Jammu Kashmir bowler has come a very long way. Here is an in-depth look at the updates:
Umran Malik Bowls 155kmph:
Umran Malik and his pace have been doing the rounds of world cricket. In the 1st T20I against Sri Lanka as well, he was clocking 146 to 150 kmph on a regular basis. But his delivery to Dasun Shanaka that led to Shanka’s dismissal was a super quick one. It clocked 155 kmph on the speed gun. Indian cricket has rarely witnessed fast bowling at that speed and with such precision. It was the 4th delivery of the 16th over.
Earlier, it was Jasprit Bumrah who had clocked 153.3 kmph in the Border Gavaskar series of 2018-2019. It was in the first test match at Adelaide which the Indian Cricket Team had won. Jasprit Bumrah has also been added to the Indian cricket team for the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Umran with this delivery of his has broken the record for the fastest delivery by an Indian bowler.
Umran Malik on Breaking Shoaib Akhtar’s Record:
Umran Malik who clocked 155 kmph for the Indian Cricket Team was also asked if he intends to break Shoaib Akhtar’s record of the fastest bowl ever bowled. He answered this very gracefully by saying, “Right now, I’m only thinking about performing well for the country. If I do well and I’m lucky, I’ll break that. But I don’t think about it at all. You don’t get to realize how fast you’ve bowled during the match. It was only when we come back after the game that we got to know how fast I was. During the game, my only focus is on bowling in the right areas and picking wickets.”
Malik is Playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad who helps JK cricketers:
Sunrisers Hyderabad is a commendable franchise. They have always worked to groom the Jammu and Kashmir players. These players need this support because the state is generally in unrest. But this state has immense talent. Parvez Rasool, Umran Malik, Abdul Samad, and Virant Sharma are all the players who have been groomed by the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
