Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma started a fundraiser to tackle Covid-19 situation in India, donated INR 2 Crores.

Ace Cricketer Virat Kohli and his actor wife Anushka Sharma on Friday announced a fundraiser campaign to tackle the covid-19 situation in the country. In the video posted on social media by Virat and Anushka, both expressed their gratitude and solidarity towards the frontline workers and pledged to donate INR 2 Crores from their side to the fund. 

“Things have been very tough for India, as we fight the pandemic, and it really pains us to see our country suffer like this,” Kohli and Anushka said in a video posted on their social media channels. “We are grateful to all the people who have been fighting for us day and night. Their dedication is appreciated.

“Since the Covid-19 outbreak, our country is going through trying times, our health systems are being challenged, we need to come together and help our India,” Kohli wrote in an Instagram post. 

Both the celebrities urged their fans and supporters to do their bit for the cause and help the country win this battle.

“Anushka and I have started a campaign on Ketto, to raise funds for Covid-19 relief, and we would be grateful for your support. No amount is too small to save lives.”

The campaign started on Ketto in association with an NGO by Virat and Anushka aimed to raise a sum of approx INR 7 Crores which will be then used to help people and the hospitals suffering from the dreaded virus.

Earlier, Virat Kohli in a video posted by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) said that the franchise is having discussions on how to help the people on the ground level.

Kohli further added that the franchise will be making a financial support to purchase the Oxygen for the hospitals in these dire times.
