Virat Kohli clarifies his relations with teammate Rohit Sharma, says no rift: Indian red-ball skipper Virat Kohli on Wednesday paid heed on the sizzling topic of the alleged rift between him and the new Indian white-ball captain Rohit Sharma. Kohli in the pre-tour press conference stated that the relations between him and Rohit are absolutely fine.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently named T20I skipper Rohit Sharma to be the new leader of white-ball squads of India. Sharma will take up the reins of the ODI team from Virat Kohli in the upcoming three matches ODI series against South Africa.
Ever since the Indian cricket board appointed Rohit Sharma as the new Indian captain in white-ball matches, some reports allegedly glorified the possible rift between Rohit and Virat owing to the captaincy turmoil.
Virat rubbished all the claims and said that there is no split between the two.
“There is no rift between me and Rohit Sharma. I have clarified multiple times in the last 2.5 years and now I am tired of clarifying things. I can guarantee you that my communication will never be to take my team down till I am playing cricket. It is my commitment towards Indian cricket,” said Kohli in the virtual press conference.

The red ball skipper further added that Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid will have his full support to take team India to new heights.
“My responsibility is to push the team in the right direction, along with Rahul Bhai and Rohit, both of them will have my full support moving forward,” said Kohli.
In the meantime, Rohit Sharma, the new Indian ODI & T20I skipper, has been ruled out of the three matches Test series against South Africa after injuring his hamstring once again. The BCCI has announced Gujrat opener, Priyank Panchal, as his cover while there are no confirmed reports on his participation in white-ball games, as of yet.
Reports claim that Rohit’s injury is serious and the cricketer might miss on the ODI series as well.
