India vs England Test Series: Former England skipper Nasser Hussain praised Indian skipper Virat Kohli for the valuable instincts in the side. Hussain feels Kohli has made the new Indian side strong and tough, which does not get bullied by the outside world and fans on or off the field.

India despite missing some of the key players and most of the experienced bowling options got injured but the young Indian side held the game and showed a strong determination and grit to defeat Australia in Australia and win the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

The Ajinkya Rahane led side never looked back after the humiliating debacle in Adelaide and went on to clinch the series with 2-1 lead.

“Any side that has been 1-0 in Australia, witnessing a humiliating 36 all out and missing key players. Skipper leaving the team due to paternity leave, experienced bowlers getting injured and some sort of stuff going on with the fans but India definitely showed they can’t be bullied with some small talks,” Nasser Hussain told Sky Sports.

“They are the tough side to defeat. I think Virat Kohli has instilled that into the players. Make no mistake in home, they are a formidable outfit.”

England will be high on confidence as they clean-sweep Sri Lanka in the two-game test series, but Nasser Hussain suggests the visitors play their best field against India.

Hussain and Kevin Peterson earlier, mocked ECB for resting Jhonny Bairstow for the India tour.

“That’s a really good sign that they’re doing that, with harder tasks ahead. The Ashes, India home and away, New Zealand confirmed, but that is great momentum and confidence going into an iconic series which is India away,” he said.

“I was brought up in India and I look up the series between India and England as one of the toughest series. All you need to do is go with your best 13 or 15 players.”

“I think England fans have earned the right for their best team to be there that first day. If it means (Stuart) Broad and (James) Anderson playing together because it’s a bit green, worry about the Ashes down the line.”
