Virat Kohli likely to take a break from cricket says reports: Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli is now finally thinking of taking a break from international cricket says reports published in various media outlets. The break will begin after the conclusion of the ongoing three-match ODI series against England.
India and England are currently engaged in the third ODI at Manchester, Old Trafford. The three-match series is currently levelled at 1-1.
As per the reports, Virat Kohli will be joined by his mother and extended family in England to enjoy the break.
“Kohli will be joined by his mother and extended family during the break. Kohli will avoid cricket during the said time and will kick off the preparations for Asia Cup 2022 from August 1. Kohli is in England with his wife and daughter,” said sources in the know of the development.
Notably, Virat has been excluded from India’s T20I and ODI squad touring West Indies and the USA after completing the England tour. India’s Caribbean tour will begin on July 22.
The Indian talisman is expected to be back in Indian colours after his break for the Asia Cup 2022 which will probably be held in Sri Lanka, starting August 27.

Kohli was expected to make his comeback in the ongoing England tour, which is turning out to be disastrous for him. In the one-off Test at Edgbaston, Kohli managed poor scores of 11 and 20 runs. In the two T20Is Kohli played, he managed to score mere 1 and 11 runs. Meanwhile, his ODI outing hasn’t been encouraging either, scoring just 16 in the 2nd match. His outing in the ongoing 3rd ODI will be interesting to watch.
Evidently, a wave has begun to flow against Virat Kohli of late owing to his poor form. While several people including the experts have called for his exclusion from the Indian T20I side, a lot of former cricketers have stood by Kohli in his toughest days.
However, to answer all the trolls and critics, the Indian management has responded by backing Kohli into the side. Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper, has supported Kohli to come out good saying, “it’s just a matter of a few good innings for Kohli to return to his best.”
