Virat Kohli On Field Behavior | From Aggression To Calmness, What's Expected?
Virat Kohli, India's star batter has always been active character on the field. Viray Kohli's aggression has even succeeded in intimidating the Australians who were regarded as aggressors. While Kohli collided first shoulder into Australia's opener Sam Konstas and got fined for it, Virat has relatively cool off on the field. Virat is confused whether the audience want him to be calm on the field or be a aggressive mode. Kohli admitted that at some point of time he goes exaggerates but he does it for team's victory.
It's gradually starting to diminish again," Virat Kohli said at Royal Challengers Bengaluru's Innovational Lab Indian Sports Summit before the Indian Premier League 2025 edition. "Audiences are not happy ,that I really don't even know what to do, surely to be honest. Before that, my aggression was something to be a problem, and now my calmness is a kind of problem. It's like, I have nothing to say what needs to be done, that's why I let it be like that by choosing not to focus on it much.
Kohli says that I've never led away from that. But the point is, okay, sometimes the aggression might not have shown out with the right intent. And later on Virat says that he wants this all to be an event that helps his team to victory. That's why you see the celebration that Virat have when the team pick up a wicket in a pressure situation.
Later Kohli state that,"Because he like, yes, this is exactly what needs to be done. And he show it like that."
Virat Kohli feels that the audience in many cases audience misunderstood his aggression comes from the right time and never misplaced. Also, his aggression behaviour is slowing down, simply but not his action for the competitiveness.
"For many of the people, this behaviour is might not be something that they're able to do. But in case of me, it always be from the right path. And in batting, of course, my aggression only puts me in a different position. Because I don't have small, simple things to get happy about. I mean, the end aim is to finish the game for team. And then, yes, I represented it the way I used to do it in the past. Again, things have happened naturally for me. It's getting reduced naturally," Virat said.
Virat Kohli says that: "His capability of competitiveness has not slow down. So, I think the same thing for a lot of people, it's very hard to simplify how is things is going to for the exact level if the aggressiveness is not there. Aggressiveness is not necessarily to be expressed but it can still be in your mind then out of frustration, which I have - I mean, in recent times as which is not a good thing, and be honest, I don't feel good about those things to myself."
Virat Kohli will display with his compassion and aggressive style for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru as RCB will take Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League opener match on 22 March.
