Vivo IPL 2021 RCB vs KKR: Virat Kohli’s RCB cleans up KKR in a high scoring thriller by 38 runs.

Vivo IPL 2021: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) continued their winning run as they registered their third victory in the ongoing Vivo IPL 2021 defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 38 runs in the 10th match. MA Chidambaram for the first time this year produced a high scoring thriller as Virat and Co. smashed 204 runs in the 20 overs.

Chasing the mammoth total, KKR never really took off and lost the game by 38 runs. KKR were reduced to 166 for eight in the 20 overs, all-rounder Andre Russell scored 31 runs while skipper Eoin Morgan could manage 29.

Kiwi all-rounder Kyle Jamieson picked three wickets for RCB giving away 41 runs in four overs while spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and speedster Harshal Patel scalped two apiece. Washington Sundar also got one under his belt.

RCB managed to score 204 runs despite two early breakthrough. Skipper Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar were sent cheaply in the second over of the game by Varun Chakravarthy.

Opener Devdutt Padikkal and Glenn Maxwell put RCB back on track after two early wickets.

Southpaw Padikkal was dismissed by Prasidh Krishna after scoring 25 from 28 deliveries.

Glenn Maxwell slammed a brilliant 78 from 49 deliveries after a couple of good partnerships with Devdutt Padikkal and AB de Villiers. However, the Australian all-rounder was dismissed by Harbhajan Singh in the 17th over of RCB’s innings.

Although all these days, the surface in Chennai restricted the hard hitters from playing big shorts and hindered them to finish games on high but AB de Villiers was on different mood tonight.

The South African cricketer scored a quickfire 76 from 36 deliveries with the help of nine boundaries and three towering sixes. He took RCB to a strong total in the end of 20 overs.

For his scintillating knock in no time, AB de Villiers was handed the “Player of the Match” award.

With three back to back wins, RCB is at the top of Vivo IPL 2021 points table with 6 points.
