Vivo IPL 2021: Phase 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is almost all set to kickstart in the month of September. The BCCI closed the contact with the Emirates Cricket Board for the coordination and rescheduling of the remaining 31 games of the suspended IPL season 14.
As per the schedule, a month-long window (17 September to 15 October) is being considered to conduct all the remaining games of the Vivo IPL 2021. As many as 7 doubleheaders will be conducted in 27 days.

Overseas Players Availability Concerns:
The biggest barrier in front of the BCCI will be to bring the overseas players in the remaining 31 games. The sources have openly said that the IPL 2021 Phase 2 will be the preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. However, it will be interesting to see if the players see it the way the BCCI looks at it.
Australian Players – Unavailable
Cricket Australia has a packed summer ahead. The Australian team is scheduled to tour the West Indies in July. After the completion of the series, Australia is also hitched to tour Bangladesh for a limited-overs series.
England Players – Unavailable
The same is the case with England. ECB has also a cricket packed summer ahead. First, England will host New Zealand for the test series followed by Sri Lanka for a limited-overs series.
After Sri Lanka, Pakistan is scheduled to tour England post which England will play a five games test series against India.
New Zealand Players – Unavailable
The kiwis are scheduled to play a three games ODI and T20I series against Pakistan in UAE. The New Zealand Cricket Board would want to keep their players fresh for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup hence they will be reluctant to take part in Phase 2 of the IPL 2021.
South African Players – Available.
South African players will be available for Phase 2 of the Vivo IPL 2021. Proteas will host the Netherlands in September and their couple of players will leave for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
West Indies Players – Partially Available
The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) will go ahead till 19th September which indicates that the west indies players will not reach for IPL in time. They will have to go through a quarantine process which will take at least 10 added days.
Bangladesh Players – Unavailable
Bangladesh Cricket Board will tour England during the September window of IPL and would love to keep their players in shape for the marquee ICC T20 World Cup.
Afghanistan Players- Unavailable
The same is the case with Afghanistan Cricketers. Pakistan and Afghanistan will play a three games ODI series in UAE due to which the players will not be able to attend the remaining 31 games of the IPL 2021.
