Watch: Babar Azam gets involved in a huge verbal fight during the Bangladesh Premier League

Pakistan batter Babar Azam is currently plying his trade in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024 for Rangpur Riders. While his class with the bat has been unmatchable, the former Pakistan skipper looked in extreme agony on the field on Saturday (27th January). 

During the match between Rangpur Riders and Durdanto Dhaka on Saturday, Babar Azam was seen having a verbal exchange with the opposition’s keeper at the at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Rangpur were asked to bat first and they had a decent outing with the bat in their innings. 

However, in the midst of the innings something happened that many aren’t familiar with. Babar Azam was seen exchanging some hard words with Durdanto Dhaka wicketkeeper Irfan Sukkur. Things didn’t look good as Pakistan batter clearly wasn’t happy with something.

In the video that has went viral on internet, Babar Azam during the mid innings break was seen having a fight. Dhaka cricketer Mohammad Naim Sheikh is seen trying to calm down his team’s keeper in the midst of the fight between the two players. 

Babar Azam can he heard saying to the keeper: I’m not talking to you. Also, he can be seen explaining the entire incident to his partner Mohammad Nabi before on-field umpires intervened to calm down the situation.

Babar Azam wins player of the match for valiant half-century 

Babar Azam was sensational with the bat in the game between Durdanto Dhaka and Rangpur Riders. He played a match-winning innings for his team and helped them win the match. He ended with an innings of 62 off 46 balls to go with five fours and a six. 

Azam’s innings helped Rangpur Riders post a big total of 183/8 on the board. For his heroics, won the Player of the Match. The batter has been in staggering form in the ongoing tournament. As in three games, he has scored 120 runs at an average of 60.00 and a strike rate of 116.50.
