Watch: Bizzare Scenes! Lights turn off in the middle of the ball during New Zealand vs Pakistan 3rd ODI

Pakistan National Cricket Team and New Zealand National Cricket Team clashed with each other in the last game of the three-match ODI series on Saturday (5th April). The dead rubber game between the teams was played at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.

Pakistan and New Zealand were involved in a thriller at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. But it was the hosts, who had another terrific outing in the series, won the game by the massive margin of 43 runs and sealed the series by 3-0 under the leadership of Michael Bracewell.

While the competition between bat and ball was enthralling, one of the moments that came in the news during the match was when the lights of the stadium got off during the play. The incident happened during the 39th over of the game and it left many in shock.

Jacob Duffy, who was bowling, delivered the fourth ball of the over, and the ball left his hand, and the floodlights went off. It got completely dark. The ball was delivered and Tayyab Tahir, who was batting, walked away. The ball missed the stumps and probably rolled away to the fence.

Pakistan had a poor outing in the series as after losing the first two games, they failed to win the third match as well. Asked to bat, New Zealand had a decent outing with the bat as fifties from Rhys Mariu (58) and skipper Michael Bracewell (59) powered them to a total of 264 runs.

In the chase, Pakistan kept losing wickets at regular intervals. The batters had starts but they failed to convert that. Babar Azam slammed a solid fifty while the rest of the batters failed to go past the 40-run mark as they got all out for 221 runs to lose the game by a massive margin of 43 runs.

It's always nice to finish the season well - Michael Bracewell

New Zealand skipper Michael Bracewell talked about the series win, saying that it was nice for them to finish the season on high. He added that it was an enjoyable game for them. Speaking after the game, he said:

"It was an enjoyable day. It's always nice to finish the season well. We came yesterday wanting to put in a good performance in front of a great crowd. Thankfully we were able to do that. The wicket stood up really well. There was a lot of rain in the last couple of days, the wicket actually played a lot better than everyone expected.

Credit to the ground staff. A great game of cricket, obviously a reduced game, but an enjoyable one. With reduced number of resources, you get a chance to put your foot down a little bit earlier."
