Dinesh Karthik had a great outing with the bat for his team and helped his team post a fighting total on the board.

Former India wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik is having a great time in the ongoing SA20 2025 for the Paarl Royals. The wicketkeeper batter played his best innings in the tournament on Thursday (30th January) against Joburg Super Kings at The Wanderers Stadium, in Johannesburg. 

Dinesh Karthik had a great outing with the bat for his team and helped his team post a fighting total on the board. The keeper-batter slammed a magnificent half-century and entertained the crowd both in South Africa as well as back home in India with his power-hitting. 

The highlight of Dinesh Karthik's innings was the three sixes that he hit on three balls against Wihan Lubbe in Paarl Royals' 13th over. He hit the first six on a free hit as he went down on the knees and hit a slog sweep into the deep mid-wicket stands for a massive six. 

On the next ball, Lubbe bowled a short ball, which Dinesh Karthik made full use of. He pulled the ball over deep square leg for his second consecutive six and put the spinner under pressure. Then on the next ball, the keeper-batter again was on his knees and played a slog sweep, which went over mid-wicket into the crowd.

Dinesh Karthik played a sensational innings of 53 runs off 39 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 135 and also slammed 4 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. Thanks to his effort with the bat, Paarl Royals posted a fighting total of 150 runs on the board. 

His effort, however, went in vain as Joburg Super Kings chased the target with 7 wickets in hand. Faf du Plessis was the star with the bat for his team as he played an innings of 87 runs off 55 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 158 and slammed 4 fours and 7 sixes to take his team home.
