India all-rounder Hardik Pandya was one of the main reasons behind Team India lifting the T20 World Cup 2024. The vice-captain gave his sweat and blood throughout the entire tournament and ensured that the team lifted their second title.
Throughout the tournament, Hardik Pandya was at his best with the bat and ball and made sure that he silenced all his critics with his performances. He was given the major responsibility in the final as he was handed the ball by skipper Rohit Sharma in the last over.
Hardik Pandya had to defend 16 runs in the last over and he did exceptionally well as a bowler. He removed David Miller on the first ball of the over and after held his nerves to seal the win for India by 7 runs and end the title drought, winning the title after 2013.
As Hardik Pandya successfully defended 16 runs off the last over, he broke into tears immediately after that. It was hard for him to stop his tears as emotions came out and along with him, all the Indian players were down on the ground, crying.

After the win, Hardik Pandya opened up about his emotions and stated that they tried hard but it wasn’t clicking. He talked about how difficult the last 6 months were for him and said that they got what the whole nation wanted. He explained:
“It means a lot. Very emotional, we’d been working very hard and something was not clicking. But today we got what the whole nation wanted. More special for me, how my last 6 months were, I haven’t spoken a word.
“I knew that if I kept working hard I could shine and do what I could do. Getting an opportunity like this makes it more special,” he concluded.
