Watch: KL Rahul deliberately ignores Sanjiv Goenka during post-match handshakes after LSG vs DC
Delhi Capitals batter KL Rahul had a fantastic outing with the bat in the game against Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow hosted the match on Tuesday (23rd April).
In what the match against his old team, KL Rahul set the stage on fire and made sure that he takes revenge from the Sanjiv Goenka-owned side. The keeper-batter slammed yet another half-century in the league and made sure that he took his team home with ease.
Chasing the target of 160 runs, KL Rahul walked out to bat at three and played a magnificent hand. He looked in brilliant touch and made sure that he stayed till the end to take his team home. The keeper-batter had the command of the game right from the start and put the opposition under pressure.
KL Rahul ended up playing an unbeaten innings of 57 runs off 42 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 135 and also slammed 3 fours and 3 sixes during his stay at the crease. Thanks to his heroics, Delhi Capitals chased the target with eight wickets in hand.
As Delhi Capitals won the game, Kl Rahul then yet again stole the limelight during the post-match handshake ceremony. As the two teams were meeting, Sanjiv Goenka also was on the ground and he came up to meet Rahul.
KL Rahul ignored Sanjiv Goenka and walked away. The batter shook hands with the LSG owner quickly and then didn't see him. Even though Sanjiv Goenka stopped him, the batter moved away. The video went viral on the internet. Here's the clip:
We didn't take wickets but we were in control of the game - Axar Patel
Delhi Capitals skipper Axar Patel talked about the win against LSG. He said that they did a great job to restrict the opposition and also said that they need to improve their fielding. He said:
"The way we started with the ball, we didn't take wickets but we were in control of the game. Once we picked up 2 quick wickets, we got the momentum and all the bowlers did well to restrict them under 160. We can improve our fielding a bit. (roughly translated from Hindi). The drop chances will be crucial during crunch games going ahead."
