Watch: “Shattered” Rohit Sharma walks off dejectedly after his ton goes in vain against CSK

Mumbai Indians (MI) Rohit Sharma gave his sweat and blood for his team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The opening batter produced a sensational effort with the bat and kept his team in the hunt. 

Mumbai Indians were set a target of 207 runs to chase. Rohit Sharma came out with a positive intent and made sure that he took his team to a flying start. He along with Ishan Kishan made 70 runs for the opening partnership and it seemed that they would chase the target quite comfortably. 

But after Ishan Kishan got out, Mumbai Indians lost wickets at regular intervals. Rohit Sharma at the one end was going great guns and kept his team in the game. The opening batsman put Chennai Super Kings under pressure at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.

Rohit Sharma played a sensational innings and brought up a magnificent ton. This was his second ton in the IPL and it’s fair to say that had he got support from the others, Mumbai Indians would’ve emerged victorious in the game and registered their third win. 

Rohit Sharma ended with the innings of unbeaten 105 runs off 63 balls. He batted with the strike rate of over 166 and also hit 11 fours and 5 sixes in his innings. His innings saw Mumbai Indians being in the game till the last over. 

This was also the first time that the team lost the game when Rohit Sharma stayed unbeaten in the end and his team lost the game. Overall, this has happened 19 times and 18 times he has taken his team home with his magnificent batting.

As Mumbai Indians lost the game with Rohit Sharma unbeaten at the crease, the batter was absolutely shattered. While everyone was busy with handshakes, the opening batter kept his head down and walked off the field from the sidelines.
