What are “obvious reasons” for Lucknow Super Giants’ loss against RCB in Eliminator of IPL 2022: Debutant side, Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) skipper KL Rahul has pointed out a few “obvious reasons” why his team fell short against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the eliminator of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) season fifteen. LSG endured a 14-run defeat to end their memorable run in the Tata IPL 2022.

Dejected skipper KL Rahul points out being sloppy on the field as one of the key reasons for Lucknow’s loss against RCB in the Eden Garden, however, acknowledged Rajat Patidar’s innings as a massive differentiator between the two sides.

Fielding let Lucknow down in the eliminator as the fielders couldn’t grab catches. Rajat Patidar, who slammed a magnificent century, was dropped thrice in the field before he notched up his ton. To add more to this, Dinesh Karthik also got a life after he was dropped by KL Rahul himself on the field.

“I think it’s quite obvious – the reasons why we didn’t win. We let ourselves down in the field. Dropping easy catches never helps. They fielded really well and we were poor,” said KL Rahul in the post-match presentation.

“Difference was obviously Patidar playing such a knock. When someone in the top three scores a hundred, more often the team wins,” he added.

However, the skipper was happy with how his franchise performed through the course of the tournament. Lucknow was in a sensational run right from the start of the Tata IPL 2022.

“We’ll take back a lot of positives. It’s a new franchise. We’ve made a lot of mistakes, every team does that. Have to try and come back stronger. It’s a young team. They’ll learn from their mistakes, go back home and try and be better players.”

The Lucknow skipper reserved special praise for Moshin Khan who performed brilliantly in the available chances. Rahul was in awe of his skill set and expected him to grow much bigger in confidence.

“Mohsin showed everybody how good he is and what skill he possesses. As he grows with confidence, he’ll be able to clock speeds which are much higher. He will learn and develop a few more skills hopefully by next season.”
