IPL 2022 Player Retentions: The Indian Premier League (IPL) always has something to cheer its fans all across the world. With not more than 24 hours left for the player retention confirmation, the fans are eager to know what has been brewing up with the IPL franchises ever since the fourteenth season of the IPL ended in Dubai.

With the addition of the two new teams, the IPL mega auction has become inevitable. The gala Indian tournament recently brought in Ahmedabad and Lucknow based two new IPL franchises. These will become functional from the coming fifteenth season.

The final list of a maximum of four retentions will be submitted by all the franchises, except the two new inductees, by November 30th. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has clearly specified the rules for the player retentions, which says not more than four players should be picked with a maximum of two overseas options.

Following the confirmations of the Player Retentions, the two new IPL teams (Ahmedabad and Lucknow) will be given a chance to pick three players out of the remaining ones. All the other players barring the retained ones will be released for the auction IPL 2022. The two franchises can pick any three of these released players.

When is IPL 2022 Player Retention going to happen?

The most awaited Player Retention of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is slated to be held on 30th November 2021. The retention process will get underway from 9:30 PM IST onwards.

Where to watch IPL 2022 Player Retention?

The official IPL sponsor Disney+Hotstar will live stream the complete retention process for the IPL 2022. The retentions will also be live telecasted in the Star Sports network.
