Nandre Burger Domestic Career
Born in Krugersdorp, Gauteng, a city in South Africa, Burger is a left-arm fast bowler playing for South Africa. He started his cricketing career at the age of 19 when he made his first-class debut.
He made his first-class debut for Gauteng in the 2015–16 Sunfoil 3-Day Cup in 2016. He straight-away made his List A debut for Gauteng in the 2016–17 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge in 2017.
He looked a promising youngster with the ball as he was the leading wicket-taker in the 2017–18 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge tournament for Gauteng, with 19 dismissals in seven matches. Soon, he was named in the Cricket South Africa Emerging Squad.
Nandre Burger International Career
Nandre Burger was named in the South Africa Squad for the series against Pakistan in early 2023 but he didn’t get a chance. He made his international debut in all three formats—T20I, ODI, and Test—within 13 days against India in December 2023
Nandre Berger just made his first appearance in T20I cricket in the T20 series against India. Nandre Berger took one wicket with an economy of 9.75 and an average of 39 in one T20 game thus far. He also made his ODI debut against India, dismissing 5 batters with an economy of 5.23 and an average of 25.8 in three ODI matches.
But the best of his debut will be, of course, the test debut. Nandre Berger made his Test debut in Centurion against India. After bowling 16 overs in the first innings and capturing 3 wickets in the second, Nandre Berger wreaked havoc on India by grabbing 4 wickets in only 10 overs in the second innings. Against this bowler, Indian batters scored 83 runs.
