The schedule of Asia Cup 2023 has officially arrived. It is going to start from 31st August and the final match will be played on 17th September. A total of 13 matches will be played out of which four matches will be played in Pakistan while nine matches will be played in neutral venue Sri Lanka.
You’re probably wondering why the Asia Cup 2023 will take place in two distinct nations? Pakistan was set to host the Asia Cup in 2023, which is the main cause of this. However, the BCCI refused to let the Indian team travel to Pakistan due to security concerns, which is the reason this year’s Asia Cup is being held in two different nations.
Total six countries Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal in the 14th edition of Asia Cup. A total of 13 ODI matches will be played between a total of six teams. India and Pakistan can face each other twice in the league stage. On the other hand, if both the teams make it to the finals, then there can be no bigger competition for the fans than this.
Well, cricket is a game of uncertainties. In this, any team can win anywhere. As we all saw in the last year’s Asia Cup, all the fans and cricket experts felt that India or Pakistan is the strong contender for the 2022 Asia Cup, but Sri Lanka won the Asia Cup 2022.
But because this year’s Asia Cup is not of short format i.e. T20 it is a 50-over (ODI) match. And to win the ODI format, experience is needed along with skill and if any of these six teams have experience and skill, then that team is the team of India and Pakistan.
However, no team has officially announced its squad for the Asia Cup yet. But on the basis of the latest squads of India and Pakistan, let’s compare both the teams and see which team is stronger.
