WI vs IND 2023: West Indies announces 15 members squad for ODI series against India | India vs West Indies ODI Series 2023: The West Indies Cricket Board recalled star batter Shimron Hetmyer for the ODI series against India. He didn’t play any ODI match for West Indies in the last two years.
Shimron Hetmyer played his last ODI for West Indies against Australia in July 2021. After having an impressive performance in the Indian Premier League, Hetmyer made a comeback in the ODI squad; he played 13 matches for Rajasthan Royals and scored 299 runs.
The squad includes a mix of experienced players and youngsters. Shai Hope and Nicholas Pooran are all experienced international players, while Kyle Mayers and Brandon King are all in good form.
The youngsters in the squad include Keacy Carty, Jayden Seales, and Romario Shepherd, who are all looking to make their mark on the international stage.
The West Indies will be hoping to bounce back from their recent ODI series defeat against Bangladesh. They will need to play well if they want to defeat India, who is one of the strongest ODI teams in the world.
The first ODI will be played on July 27 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. The second ODI will be played on July 29 at the same venue. The third and final ODI will be played on August 1 at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad.
West Indies failed to qualify for the 50-over World Cup this year after they finished outside the top two in the recent ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe.
