Will Jasprit Bumrah Participate In The Champions Trophy 2025 Final ?
Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah hit the nets for the first time in over a month. He has been out of action owing to a back injury which he suffered during the fifth and final Test against Australia in Sydney. As a result, Bumrah did not take part in the ongoing Champions Trophy. Although in his absence, the Indian Team reached the Final.
Bumrah was initially named in India's squad for the Champions Trophy, but he couldn't recover in time to be considered in the final 15-member travelling contingent.
While Jasprit Bumrah's name was not in the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy at the deadline, so it is possible that Bumrah will join the Indian Squad in the Final.
Bumrah's Replacement Harshit Rana
Although Harshit Rana replaced Bumrah, he made his ODI debut during the ongoing England series. Rana performed quite well with the ball in the Champions Trophy, taking 4 wickets in 2 matches. Against Bangladesh, he took 3/31, and against Pakistan, he registered figures of 1/30.
Bumrah's breakdown in Australia
Bumrah had practically carried the Indian attack throughout the five-match Test series in Australia, which the visitors lost 3-1. While the rest of India's bowlers left a lot to be desired, Bumrah's performance had been rated at various points as one of the greatest individual performances by a player in a Test series in Australia.
However, the effort finally took a toll on the final test, with Bumrah being unable to bowl in the second innings. Jasprit Bumrah is expected to return to action during the IPL, but more likely he will be out for the first 2-3 matches as per the reports fromthe BCCI Source.
Bumrah's medical reports are okay. He has resumed bowling at the CoE. However, it is unlikely he'll be able to bowl at the start of the IPL in another fortnight. As per current status, the first week of April looks a more realistic date for him to get back to high-intensity cricket," a BCCI source said
